My doctor told me to drink all that water, over and above
anything else I drink. I found if I started feeling bad, or
light headed, if I drank a whole bottle or large glass of water
it helped enormously. (even now, if I start feeling 'crummy', I
grab the water. it really helps)
Be sure to take your Riba with some kind of fat containing
food -- toast and butter, or peanut butter, a bowl of cereal and
milk, bacon and eggs :) whatever, just eat with it, and be
consistent. It not only helps with absorbtion of the meds, it
makes you feel better.
Tea, coffee, and caffeine containing sodas will all DEhydrate
you, you may want to tend to avoid those as much as possible.
also avoid HOT showers or baths, use warm water, and find a good
lotion for itchies. I found Aveeno products were very helpful,
but everyone is different. I also kept hydrocortisone creams
around, they helped with the small itchies. (a super hydrating
shampoo also comes in handy, your hair and scalp will really dry
out and your hair will start thinning -- and turn into something
you don't recognize :) I swear my cowlick moved!)
and remember to take the tylenol -- it really handled the
flu-like symptoms for me.
I finished treatment about 7 weeks ago. Funny thing is, I'm
still drinking LOTS of water. you get used to it :))
Sara
who was still undetectable at the 4 week after treatment labs
(even though I had very mild sides throughout tx)-- and all other
tests were 'normal'. Liver enzymes, RBC, WBC, etc. Doc is quite
pleased :)) I'm holding out for that 6 month verdict tho lol.
