"This SciClone won't take you to Oz, but it has taken its drugs to
China. The drug firm's flagship product ZADAXIN is approved to treat
hepatitis B and C in some 30 countries, including China, its primary
market. The drug has yet to receive regulatory approvals, however, in
the world's three largest drug markets -- the US, Japan, and the
European Union. SciClone is working, along with development partner
Sigma-Tau, to gain the regulatory green light in the US and EU; the
company also wants to expand the use of the drug to include treatment
of certain cancers. It plans to submit an application to the FDA in
2006."

Don't know where this came from. Friend sent it. I'll try to find
out...

Hi Alex...  Googled the term ZADAXIN and I came up with a bunch of stuff,
including this:

http://www.hivandhepatitis.com/hep_c/news/2005/ad/121605_a.html

and

http://www.scicloneinternational.com/index.shtml

it seems to have failed phase 3 tests with hep C previous non-responders in
2005, as noted in the first href.  Old news?

Thanks for your speedy reply!
Would failure in those trials throw it completely out of the Tx
ballpark?

No, I think there is probably work being done in other trials for Hep C,
they seemed to be concentrating their efforts on the cancer side of things,
from what I saw.  And Hep B.  Their home page would let you know, I think.

cheers
