Advice on shaking a cold?

I came down with a cold last week, revving up to laryngitis Wednesday &
Thursday (and voice is still scratchy today Monday).

Then I guess I got fluid in my right middle ear (had it once before),
which is damping my hearing on that side.

And I have a cough that seems like the kind you get from nasal drip (hot
tea & Halls help for awhile).

I took my temp tonight and I'm at 99.8 F (normal for me is 97.6).

The medical sites say try to wait it out because antibiotics won't help
if the infection is viral.

I know my white cell count is down, of course (midway through Peg/Riba).

Any advice on shaking a cold while on treatment?

And if I call the doc, which doctor do I call?  Hep? Internist?  Nose &
throat guy?

Sounds like you could benefit from taking decongestants, something like
Sudafed, as a minimum.  You don't want fluid remaining behind your
eardrum for long, it provides the perfect medium for bacterial infection
(otitis medium) of the middle ear. You may already have a bacterial
infection.  I'd recommend you make an appt with your primary care
physician at the earliest.
