Randy T. - 14 Mar 2007 02:14 GMT perhaps i handled things wrong concerning iron overload topics in a group concerned with hcv. i am not above nor am i below anyone else here. but like you, i too am here. i am not a troll at all. jumping on tom for his informative posts on iron was wrong. either you know nothing of the dangers excess iron poses to varied organs or you are just stoned and letting it all hang out. bottom line, excess iron storage by ingestion of iron pills or by hereditary loading disorders is and should be a very big concern in persons with HCV or any liver disease. And should be of concern for any white person of western european decent. (app. 1 out of 200- )--- compare to 1 out of 150 with autism (Children) point here is there are alot of you wth herediitary hemochromatosis. a great many who do not know it. alot of you have people who have died of heart disease brought on byHH. some have died of liver cancer not knowing too much iron caused it. Some will pass on the genes unknowingly to your children. if they learn about this now, they can avoid major health problems. now, lets get back to the topics important to all of us. if i offended anyone, i am sorry. i tend to defend others as i would myself. its hereditary probably.......Randy
Cactus Jammies - 14 Mar 2007 03:10 GMT OK for what its worth, it was a bad day in Mudville for me that day when I wrote that, most of it was harangue, but ... I was watching this circular conversation go on and on about something that nobody but the iron guy had anything to say about. and of things, in my experience with Liver issues, have never had brought to my attention in any other forum but this one. So, no nothin on the hepC pages, nothing on the pubmed type pages, nothing except all this stuff from IronGuy. So it makes you wonder. and no, I should not shoot so damn fast, I guess. I thought the part about the Great Magnet was funny, though.

You got a problem with apologies? C'mon, tell him you're sorry. Belly up, bro.
By the way, I've talked about iron overload many times here before. The topic deserves more attention than is paid to it by those other hepc forums you mentioned. Tom's posts about iron are extracts and such from mostly reliable and respected sources....he's not making this stuff up. Cactus Jammies - 14 Mar 2007 16:04 GMT Well then, if sorry is what you need, then sorry is what I am, regardless of the fact that I do regret sending out that harangue on Tom. I am not sure, but I think 'tom' posts under at least two different aliases. It was one of the ironguy (justice) latest postings that was 'spammed' to a number of different support lists on the NNTP scape that bugged me, and I think then, I made a mistake in who the target was, it was Ironjustice, actually, oops. Anyways, when the posting goes to more than one group, it means that the poster does not expect discussion as all the subsequent cross-postings would soon lead to chaos. It means no respect, too. so ya ok, I ain't no fuckkin cop anyways, so I am sorry for doing that, tom.

He wasn't spamming this group. Hasn't he replied to each and every inquiry as to the content and intentions of his posts? That aint 'spam'. I'm guessing that if you suffered from iron overload, you'd be more appreciative of his posts. elmo no baloney, please cheesesteaks and clam chowder /////////////// Well then, if sorry is what you need, then sorry is what I am, regardless of the fact that I do regret sending out that harangue on Tom. Sex Flu Researcher - 17 Mar 2007 18:30 GMT My take on this whole mess is that Elmo was a little quick on the draw to criticize you for calling Iron Man Tom a nut. I think you should demand an apology from Elmo. And if he doesn't give you one, I'll turn the old rascal into a frog or something. Tom ought to be ashamed of himself for posting under aliases, the fucktard. For the record, I'm well aware of the dangers of iron and of hemochrmatosis (with two Irish grandparents, it's of interest), and I agree with what you're saying. I also mostly agree with Tom about iron issues, but the guy comes across as such a relentless, fanatical freak that he gets on everyone's nerves. I don't think he's ever had a reasonable back-and-forth discussion with anyone, it's all some kind of hell-and-brimstone lecture from ole Ironsides, over and over, for years and years. Sometimes I think he might be a bot.
Perhaps we should talk more about iron in relation to liver disease. Encourage people to read labels (vitamins to breakfast cereal), majorly cut back if not give up red meat, start cooking with stainless steel, always get the hh test with a hep c diagnosis and so on. It's critical information, you're right, and I'm with you on that.

Does that make him odd or eccentric? Maybe, but I doubt it. Let's give the man a break and thank him for all the valuable information he's provided. I've never seen him post anything rude or offensive to anybody. Elmo President, Coalition for the Odd and Eccentric (COE)
