Has anyone had ascites and did it get controlled?

I'm not aware of a way of controlling it other than by draining off -
and sometimes they dislike doing this in case of infections.
If you have ascites, see your specialist ASAP (I assume you already do
though).

Limiting your salt really does help.  

Also, they will give you "water pills" that will make you go and go
and go.  Take them first thing in the morning or you will be up all
night.

other than draining the fluid, reduced salt intake also in conjunction
