Shot 18 Friday night.
I was super-emotional today. I get this strongest on the Saturday after
the shot.
I like to lie in bed and watch an action movie Saturday afternoons.
They're mostly Grade-B movies with little characterization and heros who
don't show much emotion - you know, a lot of car chases, jumping off
exploding things, etc.
But I find myself getting very sad from bogus "sad scenes", like when
someone from the protagonist's backup team gets killed. These scenes
are usually about a minute long, have no set-up for why the two guys are
so close (usually they were together in either prison, special forces,
or in stickball games on the streets when they were kids, etc.
It's totally sappy and I always used to just take this in stride as
typical cornball fake emotion of a low-budget film.

Sounds like you need more drugs, to me. :-) If you find yourself
laughing at funny movies, it's time to get yourself an anti-d, or get
yourself another one.

When I was on tx I found myself often crying very easily, or being made
sad by these kinds of things. I remember after the shot feeling like I
was on an emotional rollercoaster. But since I knew it was the drug
causing it I'd just ride it out.
Eventually the slightest thing would make me cry, and that's when I
started on an anti-depressant.

I just slept all weekend for months during that phase of tx. It was my
safest bet ! ;) Couldn't even follow a movie for that long and
certainly lost the ability to read. I love reading always have and
worked on the same lowly Mary Higgins Clark mystery for months -
(Whatever happened to Tom Clancy etc??) - still haven't finished it
and am three months post tx, haha!

Thanks, man. That's exactly it. It's better knowing that it's not just me.

I can remember sitting at the kitchen table by myself and starting to
sob and not having any idea of why. I didn't feel sad or in pain (I
felt like crap, but that was different) so I just sort of watched myself
until it passed.
The a Dr's appt and he asked me how I was and I said "OK" and
immediately broke into tears.
Good luck with it. I tried to not let it bother me and made sure people
around me knew it was just weirdness, not actual pain.

Eat Coco Puffs and watch cartoons. If you cry during the cartoons, apply
rationale.
Good luck bud

You know, that's not bad advice. When I was feeling really bad Sunday
night, I remembered the often-mentioned tip from here about ice-cream
getting a lot of people through treatment. I swear it helped me get to
sleep.

I recommend ice-cream sandwiches.
Unwrap and eat. No bowl necessary.

Yeah, but if you eat ice cream sandwiches, you're stuck with either
vanilla, strawberry or chocolate. I like all the crunchy stuff and all.
Starbucks or B&J's is heaven. Besides, if you use a bowl, it'll give
the dog something to lick when you're done. :-)
