I started my third and final round of tx off with doing daily Infergen
the first week, then combined both daily Infergen and a weekly shot of
Pegasys for the next several weeks, just til I didn't think I could
handle it anymore and still get to work. O course, I was doing 7 caps of
ribavirin (1400 mg) each day along with Amantadine. I continued tx
without the daily Infergen for a couple of weeks, then did both daily
Infergen and Pegasys for another couple of weeks, just til I collapsed
in the foyer at work. After that, I did Pegasys, ribavirin and
Amantadine til I finished 11 months of tx.
The combination of all those drugs knocked the hell out of the virus,
got my viral load down pretty fast....I was undetectable at about week
9. I know that because my labs were being taken, including pcr, on a
frequent basis.
Also, I took anti-d's for depression (being depressed is a negative
indicator of reaching SVR). I also forced myself to laugh alot....I
listened to and played music as much as I could....tried to do things
for others and stay out of my personal misery...and got in touch with my
spiritual side.
That's how I got my SVR, Stretch. :-)

Thank you. Will probably be trying something similar soon.

The hard part is conning your doc into giving you scripts for both
Infergen and Peg at the same time, then getting your insurance company
to allow your pharmacy to fill both scripts. It also helps it you're
getting your labwork done by an outside lab......that way you can check
off the section that is for pcr on the way over to the lab whenever the
doc forgets to or whenever you want to know your viral load. I just
happened to want to know my viral load every time I had labs drawn (just
til I went 'undetectable'). :-)
