the dreaded biopsy

Katie's biopsy today went well. While in recovery she had some sharp pain on
her left side but nothing she couldn't handle. She doesn't remember a thing
about the actual procedure. I think the worst thing for her was like you all
said, lying on her side for 3 hours. She was a little tired when she got
home so I watched Sydney :-) and made dinner while she took a nap. When I
left her she was pretty much her old self.

She has an appointment with her gastro on the 16th of this month to get the
results. I'm glad it's over and proud of her for initiating all of this on
her own. I can now breathe a sigh of relief that this part of it is behind
her and she doesn't have to think about it anymore. One day at a time. One
day at a time.

Good for her to get this done!

Versed is a wonderful drug if you don't want to remember a fricken thing :-)
I had it for two back operations, one shoulder reconstruction with a bone
graft harvest from my hip, the liver biopsy, a parotidectomy, and a
colonoscopy (which I *really* didn't want to remember ;-)

Wonderful stuff. But it does have its own hang-over effect, so I'm not
surprised Katie was feeling beat.

Good luck to her. Hope she scores a really low staging - like a 0 :-)

Hey Mom,
Glad to hear Katie's bx went off without a hitch.  Sounds like she's been
making a lot of good decisions lately.
Hug that grandbaby for me, and keep one for yourself.

Hang in there Mom.  Best regards to Katie.  I hope it all works out so
you both can put an end to the dragon.

Then it's good to hear that you're missing your favourite season in the
east.
