I've posted before but, again, I'm 60 years young, have 1a genotype, c.
3 Meg count on virus on last blood test and "normal" on other
parameters...
Next step, in a month or two is the biopsy.
First, if I need the treatments, are there any considerations because
of my age?
Second, is it conceivable I've been carrying this virus for 40-odd
years?

In general, your chances of success are somewhat smaller with increasing
age. But that's statistics only, and does not really predict the outcome
for you as an individual.

Absolutely. I had it for over 30 years before I got rid of it three
years ago.

I don't think there are any age-based restrictions per se.
Health issues, yes, but age alone? I don't think so.
And sure, it is easily conceivable you've been HCV+ for 40-something years.
I had it for 33 years, you aren't that far ahead ;-)

The answer to both questions is 'yes'. I would hope that before your
doc started you on tx, that he'd send you to a cardiologist for an EKG
as well as an opthalmologist to have your eyes checked. Other than
that, you should be good to go, as long as a review of your medical
history, lab results and biopsy don't reveal anything worthy of further
interest.
Let us know how your biopsy went, Alex.
