Took my 1st shot 5 minutes ago. I am really scared at this point. I guess I
will know what it is all about by the am. I just hope I can sleep. Any tips
for the first few days? I will check back later on.

Take an extra strength Tylenol an hour before your next shot, and have another
one ready for when you wake up.
The shots have varying effects on folks. You may be one of the luckier ones
that doesn't feel like you got hit by a train...

Just know that many have gone before you. You'll get through it.
Take some Tylenol. Drink a lot of water. Relax.

take it easy as you can over the weekend, but good chance you
will really do well. If you do find yourself having trouble
sleeping, my doctor recommended that I could take benedryl or a
tylenol pm to help me.
Usually I feel fine the night of the shot, I don't even take
tylenol any more. The next day sometimes I'm a little feverish,
or headachy, but nothing horrible. Mostly I'm just really tired
the two days following my injection. Sleep when you feel like it
(if you can) and then hopefully by monday you'll be ok to work.
remember to pace yourself, and pay attention -- when you start
feeling bad or getting shaky, take a break!
Try not to be scared, you are going to do great. (but remember
when you start feeling sickish or dizzy, get some fluids in ya!)

Drink lots of water. This is one of the simple things that really
helps.

Yeah! Relax and go with the flow. It's not as if a railroad train or
sledgehammer is going to hit you. Really! Take it easy...it'll be
alright. Get some rest and drink alot of water.

In all likelihood, it will not be as bad as you imagine.

My first shot came off like a walk in the park. Started out with my
ears ringing from the horror story just spoken by an acquaintance who
was far from being so lucky. (He got trashed right out of the gate like
a horse breaking a leg.) For me after the first shot, it was good to be
up and walking like almost nothing had happened. Here's wishing the
same for you.

Here's my post from October, right after my first shot - hope it helps:
"Just started with #1 Friday night.
My first goal was to not drop dead right after the injection. The
insert says "Not to be taken by people who are allergic to interferons",
which I guess I should know from taking all those over-the-counter
interferons out there, right?
I had a couple of sides right away, but I knew they were symptoms of
anxiety and not miss peggy, so I took an Ativan and chilled.
A couple hours later got some of those "flu-like symptoms", mild aches,
took 2 Advil. Fell asleep.
Woke up and I was so immensely glad and grateful that I was not
experiencing projectile vomiting, white-flash headaches, or agonizing
joint pain, that I was high just on that.
I had mild aches so I took Advil - 2 - every four hours all day. Aches
seemed to get a bit worse around 2pm but then eased up a bit by 8pm.
I also took the riba for the first time this am. Just don't tell me I'm
irritable because that really pisses me off.
My next big goal is (hopefully) to find out on November 30th that it has
been working. That would kinda be icing on the cake, don't ya think?
So I have now survived my first 24 hours on treatment.
Only 8,040 more hours to go"

For me the first shot was the worst. Mild chills and a headache. The
rest of the shots (I just did 14 last night) have been easy. No
noticable sides from the shots.
