Shot 5 of 48 Friday night (back to Friday nights).

Sides-wise, one thing I think worked this weekend was just giving in,
taking it easy, getting a lot of sleep, and not trying to push it by
going out Friday or Saturday night.  Also drinking water - I try to have
a glass on the even's (or the mod 4's at least).

Saturday as mostly-usual I felt fine until around noon, then the sides
came on between then and 2.

My peg sides so far are like this: Saturday, in bed I feel fine enough
to get really bored from tv & reading, but after getting out for an hour
I'm wanting to get right back in.

Sunday I just feel like Saturday after a hard work-week.

For some reason, Monday morning at work is like the way-old days of
coming in Monday after playing hard over the weekend.

Too bad I can't just say, at work, "Oh man, I did so much peg-interferon
over the weekend that I could hardly get out of bed this morning.  I
can't believe I did a bunch of ribavirin on top of it, too!"   <grin>

I think I'm about mid-stream sides-wise - which is a lot to be grateful for.

Overall, I'm excited and optimistic to hope that it's working.  Can't
wait until 12 weeks to find out...

Hay~

I don't envy you at all! I did my shots on Friday nights too. I never failled
I always felt like sh.t within hours. Looking back I don't know how I ever
survived work Saturday and Sunday mornings. I would go home and a shower
would put me in bed for a few hours but one year olds don't tolerate that for
long. Mondays and Tuesdays were always easier then about Wednesday or
Thursday I felt terrible again. Just in time to inject again! I hope to hear
that first test has you flying high.

You shouldn't have to wait that long. Did you not do a 4 week test? The 4
week test indicates your likelihood of achieving SVR. A 2 log drop or better
in viral load is a good sign. The 12 week test will tell you if you have no
chance of SVR and should give up.

I believe Russian has geno-1 and is on the 48-week plan, therefore the
early response test would be taken at 12 weeks instead of 4 weeks.   -bg

Well I am geno-1a and I had a 4 week test. I guess there's no real point to
it since we have to do the 48 weeks in any case but it's nice to know if
you've had an EVR. The 12 week test has only negative predictive value, even
for geno 1s. It'll tell you if you should give up but the 4 week EVR tells
you if you have a decent chance of SVR.

Funny you should mention it...

I went to the blood lab to get the bloods drawn, and I specifically
asked if they had PCR on the orders.  They didn't.  I said it must be a
mistake.  They called the doctor.  Eventually his nurse called me.  She
said they don't usually do PCR at the 4-week point.  I reminder her that
my baseline was from my general physical last January, and therefore the
hep doctor had told me he would do a PCR at 4-weeks rather than delay
start of treatment to get new bloods.

Result: I spent the afternoon at the lab but in the end I got PCR added
to the orders and faxed, of course along with the hep panels and TSH etc.

That was one week ago.  The results should be in - but I probably won't
get them until Monday, this being Thanksgiving week.

Good memory!

Yes, G1 and 48 weeks, hence the "x/48" (hopefully) count-up.

By the way, looking at the positive side, 5/48 could potentially mean
I'm 10% of the way along to being cured.  That's 5 times farther than I
was after the first week!

See, with the right statistical analysis, one can see that this
treatment thing just zipping along! <g>

(The scary thing is that I actually think in this way... it helps me to
make the most of every interim step, even if that means making
milestones out of molehills, or something like that <g>.)

For example, assuming that all this will someday turn out be my history
of how I got rid of the virus of course, and that I only need to do 48,
then after my next, the 6th shot, I'll be 12.5% done.  That's 25%
further along than after the 5th shot.

Okay, I'll stop now.
