until hopefully I get SVR. What a trip this has been. I could not of
done this without your compassion, knowledge and encouragement. Would
I do this again - in a heartbeat if it meant my life being saved. I
had a very difficult time with the side effects. As most of you know I
was in a study that would not allow for neuprogen and they reduced my
interferon dose from 4 to 3 for a total of 3 weeks during the course of
tx. I took 1000mg of riba per day. I think that once my neuts dropped
it was downhill all the way and no coming back from this. I ended up
with 5 kidney infections since January and I am extremely anemic. I
started out with a large weight loss, extreme fatigue, depression and
moved into blood work crashing. I managed to work for 4 months - went
to Mexico for the 5th month and tried to go back to work but couldn't
do it. I have just managed to lay around and finish the course of tx.
I think I am one of the extreme cases for side effects (my mother
always said I got things twice as bad lol). For Geno 1's there seems
to be a compounded effect past the 6 months. Once would think it gets
easier but it gets worse.
I don't want to scare anyone off treatment but in reality there are a
few like me who can barely function - others seem to cope very well.
Kind of pisses me off lol and makes we feel wimpy but this was out of
my control.
Once again thanks for the info, entertainment and friendship.

Hi Mags,
I haven't been here very long but just had to say I wish you the very best,
a long, healthy life and joy.
You've been through a lot and made it, I congratulate you and admire you.

Mags,
I'm new to this group and only at 21 weeks (as of tomorrow) but in the
short time I've been here you have been an inspiration. You plowed thru
your last couple of weeks with grace, I only hope that I can do the
same. Good luck on getting SVR though I have a good feeling that you
will. I'm probably one of those you are pissed off at since (with the
help of lots of side effect meds) I am doing relatively well. Anyway,
congrats on finally finishing tx, YAY for you!!! *gives you a standing
ovation*
