I found out I might've been exposed to hepatitis c, though i certainly
hope not.  I was at my buddies last week and we went in the jacuzzi,
little did I know that earlier in the day he and his girlfriend had
been in there and she gave him a bl.wj.b in the tub (didn't swallow
(gross now that it's in the tub)) and my buddy may or may not have hep
c.  He had it at one time becase he told me once he has antibodies but
his viral count indetectible and he's had it since the 80's (also has
no liver damage or symptoms - which is great, he's such a good friend
I'm glad it hasn't been a problem for him).  Anyway I've done some
research on it and I know that the sexual transmission rate is
extremely low estimated at .03% in some studies to 2.5% in others, but
it's basically impossible to spread sexually almost, unless you try to.

Anyway, I spent about an hour soaking in their tub before anyone knew i
was there and told me to get out.  I submersed a couple times and had
some scratches that were scabbed over but i'd had them for a week or so
prior to getting in the tub so they were heavily scabbed.

I'm a bit concerned I may have contracted it, anybody got any idea what
the risk is here?  Sure would appreciate some info on this.

I was wondering if this post is a wind-up.  Just in case it isn't I
would rate the chance of you being infected are somewhere between zero
and nothing.
Wish my girlfriend would do that :-)

J - You're kidding, right?  If the guy bleed directly on you (like on
an open sore or something), you might have something to worry about,
but even if he bled in the hot tub earlier in the day I doubt you'd
have anything to worry about considering the chemicals in the hot tub,
time in between, etc.

Not tough to answer at all - go get tested.  P&L - Abby

how soon should I get test, or rather, how soon can I get tested and
have any definitive results?  Also as my understanding of these thigns
go, if there's no antibodies then I'm in the clear, right?

At this point just make an appt. with your regular doc - state your
concerns and take it from there.  Be sure to follow up with that doctor
though until you understand what's up with your health - you can never
be too involved.  Stay educated AND HEALTHY - Good Luck - P&L - Abby

Be sure and tell the doc about the cum wad you had in your eye.  I'd be
more concerned about catching 'syph eye' than I would hepc tho.  :-)
