do ppl with hcv have a lot of problems with their memory? i have been with dean for 2 years and have seen a real decline in his memory. it use to be that he would tell me something and then turn around and tell me he never said it. now he is to the point where he can forget what happened in a whole day. Cirrhosis causes the buildup of ammonia in the blood, which causes damage to neurons and mental function. Sometimes ammonia levels can be influenced by diet or medication, check with his doctor and make sure you tell him about the mental symptoms.
