Thanks all - the responses to my first post have gone above and beyond
my expectations.  For week 1, I don't think my sides have been too
bad.  When can I expect the fun stuff, like mood swings, depression,
dry skin, etc.  :-(  I would expect that they would take some time to
show up, IF they are going to.  Is it too individualised to take a
guess?

To answer some questions:  I'm in Toronto, Canada.  I haven't had a
biopsy because I have a bleeding disorder, don't want to take the
chance, and my doc agrees it's not absolutely necessary for me.
Because I have monor esophogeal varices, she assumes I have some
cirrhosis.

If I've missed a question, just remind me - I'm getting on, after all!

Drinkin' water,

David

Yes.  That is why I was wondering about cirrhosis. It sounds like it
might have been better to start tx before now but your doc has more
info than I.  As you have a bleeding disorder, doing a tx that thins
the blood still further may have been regarded as too risky.  It's
hard to say this without sounding crude but if your sh.t is black, it
may mean that those varicose veins are bleeding.  If that happens, get
medical assistance without delay.  It may not happen or you may
already be aware of this anyway.

David,
Some people do fine and others have a harder time of it. It is
individualized but many symptoms are similar among people. I'd say just
go a day at a time, maybe everything will be just groovy....hope so.
