Just wondering if there is anyone here thats ever heard of, or had any
experience with BARRETTS esophagus?

I had an endoscopy earlier this week, and that's what they found.
may 10th I go in for the BIG rear end Roto Rooter.  Unfortunately I've
been passing some blood where blood is not supposed to pass.

SO once again, I did a little Online research, and only found things I
don't like hearing. Such as "precursor to cancer"  stuff like that.

Just wondering if there is anyone here with experience with this?

Of course, now that the Hep-C is gone,  THIS had to pop up.

Wow, if it's not one thing it's another sometimes.  But precursor to
cancer sounds maybe a bit strong since chances are still low of getting
that rare cancer.  Hope your doctor gets you some relief but don't let
thoughs of getting the Big C haunt you.  Horrible, stuff.  Got a friend
on chemo for testicular cancer now and I thought tx was bad.

Thanks Don.  I've talked to a co-worker that tells me he was diagnosed
with Barretts too.  His doctor told him only 1% of people with Barretts
will develop Cancer.   I just don't like anything else adding to the
odds.  Take care,

While doing treatment I said this to myself often, "I once complained I had
no shoes, till I met a man who had no feet"....

Michael, I don't have any experience with Barretts, but I'm very
familiar with the upcoming procedure. The worst part is having to drink
the gallon of prep, if you have a choice make sure it's chilled and
flavored. Good luck. BTW, they say the sedative they give you doesn't
put you to sleep, but I don't remember going through any of them. I did
cringe a bit when watching the video afterwards. :)

LOL!  Thanks Dwight.  I too have been advised that the worst part of the
procedure is the 'prep' work before hand.   I don't WANT to see any
pictures.   Buwahahahahaha

take care bud.

>Hey Michael,

I sure hope there is nothing serious found when you go for
that....procedure....good luck with it. Try not to worry or think about it
too much. I'll do the worrying for you...I am that good at it! I can't help
thinking of the Stones song...what a drag it is getting old....

Yeah, <sigh> my doc says "well, you're pushing 50, so it's time you do
it anyway".  I'm SERIOUSLY hoping they find nothing as well.
