Just wondering if there is anyone here thats ever heard of, or had any experience with BARRETTS esophagus? I had an endoscopy earlier this week, and that's what they found. may 10th I go in for the BIG rear end Roto Rooter. Unfortunately I've been passing some blood where blood is not supposed to pass. SO once again, I did a little Online research, and only found things I don't like hearing. Such as "precursor to cancer" stuff like that. Just wondering if there is anyone here with experience with this? Of course, now that the Hep-C is gone, THIS had to pop up. But precursor to cancer sounds maybe a bit strong since chances are still low of getting that rare cancer. Hope your doctor gets you some relief but don't let thoughs of getting the Big C haunt you. I've talked to a co-worker that tells me he was diagnosed with Barretts too. His doctor told him only 1% of people with Barretts will develop Cancer. The worst part is having to drink the gallon of prep, if you have a choice make sure it's chilled and flavored. Good luck. BTW, they say the sedative they give you doesn't put you to sleep, but I don't remember going through any of them.
