Hi

Ya know, I hate waiting more than anything!

first waiting on getting into the study to start getting
tx for this damn virus.

my latest excitement was a tachycardia thingie that happened
monday... my heart rate was 200 when I got to the ER.  They gave
me a couple of shots and got it slowed down, and kept me long
enuff to determine that I was 'ok' and no damage to my heart.

I had to go see my PC wed., bp and hr fine, the meds are
controlling them.  Last night got really dizzy, today a bit
lightheaded and 'weird' feeling.  bp still fine, hr down around
62 and the nurse said that was fine and dizziness a normal side
effect of the meds they gave me, it should go away soon.

have an appt with the cardio monday.

just got a call from the RN in charge of the study -- she got
the report from the ER about the tachycardia thing and talked to
the dr in charge who initially said that disqualifies me from the
study.  I told her i have an appt mon with the cardio guy and
that
what I've read so far didn't lead me to think it was a serious
problem..  she says they'll wait and see what cardio has to say
before they decide for sure.

I may not be a candidate for treatment at all, she says.

I am not a happy camper at this moment.  sigh. and I effing HATE
waiting for answers!

Sara....this waiting crap does indeed suck! Correct me if I am wrong, but
don't you have insurance that will cover treatment just in case the study
doesn't pan out?

I sure hope the visit with the cardiologist goes well and they let the study
folks know you can handle treatment.

Waiting with you and sending hugs to keep you steady!

Hi Sara

I used to get tachycardias as well. My first was in 1993 and my last was in
2003. My heart dr did a catheter ablation (sp?) and found the offending
pathway in my heart. They zapped it with RF energy and got rid of it.
Sometimes I can feel it trying to start but it never does.

Did they give you Toporol XL? Or Attennenol? (sp?) Either one causes a drop
in BP and HR. I'm on Toporol again becuse the TX causes my HR to reach about
100bpm. I never had any real problems wiht the drugs.

I think they're getting crazy on you.

I hope this works out Sara.

thanks PT :)  hope so too.  they gave me a shot of something in
the ER, not sure what it was but it slowed down my heart rate.
I'm taking Lopressor now to regulate it.  a little dizzy last
nite and light headed today, hoping that goes away soon.  could
be caffeine withdrawal too, I've gone cold turkey on that :(
sure do miss my morning coffee.  sigh

Hi Sara, you know, it's always bad to start or stop two things at the same
time. If get ill effects you don't know which one it's coming from!!! So,
have that cup of morning joe!!

Hey Sara I also took Toprol (beta blocker?) for a while early in tx. I
stopped needing it. Did you say you take a beta blocker?
