Aw, Shawn, it wasn't rude and it wasn't meant to be rude. As a cat lover
*and* a dog lover, I can assure you that there is a world of difference
between the species, especially in the ways that they express loyalty and
intelligence, but one is not superior to the other in any way. Well, I admit
that cats aren't much for leaping into the air to snag Frisbees, but you
know what I mean.

I don't know, I've got a cat that loves to play fetch. And as much as I
love my cats I still miss my dog Texas, I keep expecting him to meet me
at the gate when I get home with an excitement that only a dog can show.
I've lost both dogs and cats and it's hard to part with either one.

Shawn,
oh well, I don't know if you're kidding or not.  I do not dislike dogs, but
we were talking about cats, afterall.  If midget pigs were more popular for
pets, I would have compared a cat's behaviour to that of a porky.  Two
different species.  WS was right on with her assessment of my intent.

and cats tend not to smell when they get wet
8-)

Shawn,
I'll put it another way.  I regret causing hard feelings with my post in
which it may have seemed I was dismissing dogs as inferior to cats.

What's with this thread?!
CJ's remarks were peaceable enough. imho canines and felines are kind of a
Venus and Mars deal.

I was a cat person until I got a dog; now two years later I still love
cats but wow, there is nothing like a dog in your life.

(my dog just came over to give a lick kiss to my foot as I wrote that.)
