Hey everyone,
Can ya believe it? Not even a week yet and I'm already loosing my cool.
I actually told my poor wife to "Shut up!".
"Did YOU actually tell ME to 'Shut up'"?
Oh man, I knew I was in trouble then.
All this over a broken shoe lace before we left for work. By the time I got
on the train I was ready to kill someone.
Now I get to feel bad all day for being so abusive.
God I hate this crap already.

Yes, I can believe it.

Been there, you're not alone.

This sounds as a positive thing: I mean, you can apologize telling your
wife you've been clearly stupid because of drugs, as the reason was
really a silly one and that you wouldn't behave like that in a normal
situation.

I've been acting like a mad motherf..ker for most of the time during
treatment and I've been involving much more than a shoe lace... I've
been throwing almost everything of my family into sh.t...so.
Take care man, from your web site pictures it seems you're quite happy
with your family.

Thanks jeeb, I am quite happy at home. Great job, nice home, great wife (Who
has a good job as well), and I have absolutely nothing to be pissy about.
<<sigh>>
Thanks again jeeb,

Does she understand that it's the Riba talking and not you?

Stressing yourself about it is only going to make you feel worse. The
treatment was like a megaphone for bad feelings for me. Do whatever you
can to focus yourself on positive things - like how you will keep your
mouth SHUT the next time you want to tell someone to shut up :)
Puckertoe - 09 Feb 2006 18:13 GMT
You're right Gordo, I need to explain the Ribi to her again. I've got to
find a way to keep my cool.

Gordo Mondragon - 12 Feb 2006 02:24 GMT
For me, it was a combination of marijuana - which made the rage just
completely disappear like magic - and learning that when I was in that
rage mood to just grit my teeth and say nothing. Easier to just be
overall quiet than to try to sort out what was and what wasn't OK to say.
Those who know you know that there's something going on but at least you
don't have to apologize.

Gordo, I believe that you've discovered the cause of dental deterioration on
tx.

Aw, poor Puckertoe, I know exactly how you feel.
"Riba-Rage" isn't a joke, it's a very real side-effect of treatment.
I suggest that you immediately smoke a joint, then make an appointment to
see your doc to have your antidepressants either changed or the dosage
increased.
Next, arrange to take some time off work because you're not doing yourself
or anyone else any favours by being there in your state of mind.
All the best, and hang in there. Things should level off after your body
(and brain!) becomes somewhat used to the riba and you get your anti-d's in
order.

Yup I hear you. My first few weeks I went berserk over my husband
buying cool whip instead of whipped cream for Thanksgiving. I now call
him cool whip man lol. I made a promise to myself never to rage at him
again as I need him to help me get through this hell. I haven't lost
it since.

A broken shoelace and you only told her to shut up. She got off
lightly didn't she? :-) . Broken shoelaces are definitely worthy of
a good beating. Save the death threats for when you can't find your
shoes :-)

HAHA
I'm sure she'll love that humor Paul.
I did talk to her. She understands about the "Riba-Rage" and commented that:
"It's ok honey. You just can't direct it towards me. Otherwise there's going
to be some serious a.s kicking going on. And you'll be too damn weak to do
anything about it."
Good point.
I feel a little better today. Not so depressed. Shot 2 coming up in 12
hours. Yeeeee haw!

Don't forget to buy your wife a box of chocolates on your way home. You
better learn to stifle yourself or this could get expensive! :-)
