Puckertoe - 23 Jan 2006 16:55 GMT Hey everyone,
After a year of moaning, groaning, sitting on the pitty pot, and being totally argry about my relaspe, I've decided to start round 2.
Trolling the posts here was a big influence on my decision.
I feel it's the right decision. Even though it's 48 weeks I think I can do it. It won't be easy - espically for my wife - but at least I know what's in store for me.
I figure if I can get rid of this before I'm 50 (4 years) that I'll have a couple decades of healthy living.
I'm going to see my RN tomorrow at 10:15 to begin the process.
Wish me luck.

kjoh - 23 Jan 2006 18:23 GMT Go for it Puck. Remember it looks like one of the major keys is to blast that f.cker out of the water in the first five minutes of tx.
Use every drop of Inf you can squeak out of the vial. Take the Riba every 12 hours like clockwork with a solid meal. Take some Zoloft. Get some narcs and some Xanax. Keep your electrolytes up. Buy a big fluffy blanket and a teddy bear and stay under the covers for at least 2 months if possible.
I'm so Bossy.
What is your approximate location, so I can place you in my geographic constellation of hearts?

Puckertoe - 23 Jan 2006 22:57 GMT I didn;t reduce dosage, however I didn;t pay attention and for the first 2 months I was talking only half the ribaviran I was supposed to. 400mg instead of 800. Daft.
I did the whole 6 months plus and extra 6 weeks. But there was a two week lapse while I was waiting on the stupid insurance to approve it.
I showed clear at 12 weeks. Great feeling.
I guess you could say that my inattention may have caused my 1st failure. You can bet that this time I'll be very consious of everything that I do.

Dose maintenance would seem to be a major factor as to whether a successful outcome can be achieved. I also was clear in my first round of tx at week 12 but relapsed after undergoing dose reduction later in tx. The second attempt was supposed to be 48 weeks but at 7 months my bloods just would not tolerate anymore interference and as there is no regime over here for EPO had to call a halt. But having maintained full dosage for said 7 months this was as it turned out sufficient to achieve that magic SVR. I wish you well and hope your tx is successful.

Good luck, Puckertoe, and I'm happy you've decided to bring out the big guns again. You'll have some company this time, looks like Sara and Maitake will be with you on your journey.

The last I read the testing was quite advanced on this product - unless someone here knows differently?

Puckertoe - 23 Jan 2006 23:01 GMT My blood count was fine. I had a little anaemia at first, but resolved rather quickly.
I'm hoping it won't be a problem this time either.

> Hey everyone, > [quoted text clipped - 15 lines] > > -Puckertoe Puckertoe - 24 Jan 2006 02:44 GMT I was searching for a Domain name to use for a website. I had come up with a few, but nothing I liked. I was going to with BushBrow when my wife blurted out "Puckertoe!". It was so damn funny we laughed until we had tears coming out of our eyes.
We found out later that Puckertoe is actually a type of moccasin. But I've kept it anyway. It has become a fond part of my history with my wife. :)

Puckertoe is a great name! So did you do the website?

Puckertoe - 24 Jan 2006 14:51 GMT Actually yes I did. I plan on keeping the domain name for personal reasons. I'm working on two personal sites right now. www.puckertoe.com and svr.puckertoe.com the svr is going to be my way of getting through the 2nd round of tx. It'll have news, forums, blogs, etc, etc... related to hepc and tx. It was an idea that struck me the other day. Maybe someone can benefit from it.
It's kinda my way of giving back to such a awesome community.

Throughout tx I worked on a hep c website. I had the css done and 99% of the copy, was planning forums, a live chat room and a few photos..... when my farkin' puter died. Poor little thing, a Dell laptop that was my constant companion through tx, was so dropped and spilled on and slept on (literally-- arrrgh, what's that pain in my back? Oh, fell asleep on the puter again)... that it just packed it in from overuse and abuse. It's on the floor, under my bed, and I keep thinking I have to try to ressurect at least the info for that website...
So. My advice on your website? Make backups! <g>
I couldn't find puckertoe.com (page could not be displayed error), but can't wait to see what you put on it. A name like that has so many possibilities!

You have all my best wishes for this second round to be a non event as far as sides and your time for SVR! Just pay attention to following the instructions.....800 mg daily! I use that little pill box they give you....it saved my a.s a number of times. Only missed one dose of riba, but we won't go into why...
How you feeling after shot 1? Are you geno 2? For some reason I think you said you were doing 24 months....I don't trust my brain here lately.
Anyway...all the best in the slaying of the dragon!
