Thip - 01 Jan 2006 18:40 GMT How many of you remember your first love? I sure never forgot mine and how much it hurt when we split up. I was all of a very immature 17 at the time. Over the years, he's become a fond memory of things long ago and far away, before I had to grow up and take on all the responsibilities of the real world.
Last night, we got home around midnight and the light on my machine was flashing. Guess who it was! --yep, my long-lost first love. We had a wonderful comversation (til almost 2 a.m.!) and agreed to stay in touch. Several times he asked me, "Why on earth did we ever break up?" (Because that's what YOU wanted, dummy...)
Too bad he still lives in Washington. :-)

Seems like this may be an indication that 2006 holds lots of promise for you! How exciting! I bet you are still giggling over it!

It was late at night and I was driving home (30 miles away) from another friend's when I had a blowout and landed in a ditch. I hitched a ride to his house and spent the night in their spare room, and the next day he helped me pull the car out and change the tire. That was in December 1972. I moved to Florida just a couple weeks later and never had any contact with him again until last night.

You know Thip, it's apparent that with all the bad things that happened you've also had many great things happen as well!
I guess he lives in Washington State, not D.C.? No matter, he was your hero once before, perhaps he'll be your hero again while you go through this period. No harm in pondering the possibilities, right?
I don't know why, but I am very happy for you! Keep me posted!

I suppose it depends what you want really. If you're just after a short term encounter with somebody who you could never live with, then I guess crazy was OK. I went wrong when I tried "crazy" and "live with" with the same person. I must be getting a bit older because although a good sex life is still very important to me (I should hope so at only 48), I'm happy to have a calmer sex life with someone who is sane and who I care about. I guess it's called maturing. I swore I'd never do that :-)
