Hey hepper lurkers, newbies, oldies but goodies.  Took my Friday night
shooter early at dinner time so the worst is over before I travel.  I
have been off work since Xmas and have enjoyed posting in here - you
truly are a fascinating group.

What did I notice last week.  I was ill until Monday with fevers and
nauseousness.  I can certainly cope better not working but will try and
keep working when I return.  Fevers seems to be what I can expect after
my shot each Friday.  This morning I am already running a low grade
fever and my face is bright red, my skin is hot but I know enough that
the chills will set in soon.  I will finish up this morning with a
cocktail of riba and that should land me on my buttski.  I find that my
shortness of breath has returned big time and just climbing stairs gets
me winded where I have to sit.  No wonder people in here used to drop
to the floor to lie down.  My hemoglobin is normal at 147 and down to
111 and they claim that is why I have this shortness of breath.  No
marathons from me.  I am suspecting that my wbc is dropping again but I
fly out Tuesday and that way they can't reduce my meds lol as I will be
unreachable.

I had that too, in a big way.  A friend used to walk out with me after work
so he could pull me up the hill!  Otherwise I'd have had to sit down right
in the middle of the asphalt where they drive the bus back and forth to
bring in/take out inmates.

Hey Thipper did this last throughout the whole treatment?

I never made it past the 12-week checkup, mags.
mags - 31 Dec 2005 15:29 GMT
Oh sorry Thip I thought you went the whole 48 weeks.

It lasted for me throughout the whole treatment. But it didn't get
continually worse. Just meant I had to go really slow. No superhero
tricks happening then,

Have fun on your trip.

Keep it up, Mags, you're doing fine.  I hope you're taking your doc's
phone number with you in case you start to feel REALLY shitty.  Take
folic acid, it helps with the white cells.  And don't forget your
sunglasses!  :-)

Hey Elmo that is the second reference to folic acid I have seen.  Any
sites on this or more info that you may have like dosage etc.  Yes I
have my hep nurses numbers and set up a hotmail account to talk with
them - sometimes they have to arrange for blood work to be done and
results sent to them.

Hey Mags....I was going over some questions with my NP, in particular what
they do if my blood counts drop, do they prescribe Procrit or dose reduce.
They use Procrit  Then she was checking out my vitamins and mentioned the
folic acid was good, she said in fact that's what they recommend to their
patients who do not have insurance and couldn't afford to pay for Procrit.
She says it helps keep the blood counts up. I think it was Frank who in
another post added to the folic acid another good supplement. I can't
remember what post it was in.

You're gonna be fine! I am excited for you! Don't forget the sunscreen!

Hey Mags, I am hoping the change of climate and environment will be just
what you need to feel like a new! Make good use of the cabana boys! Lazing
on a chaise lounge by the ocean, the warm breezes, the sun warming your
skin, the hypnotic sound of the waves washing ashore.....you are going to
have a wonderful time!
