Mom - 30 Dec 2005 00:10 GMT I'm not sure I have your correct e-mail address and wanted to make sure you knew how sweet I thought it was of you to send me a Christmas card. I loved it. I hope you and Gerald had a wonderful holiday!

It's so good to hear from you, I wasn't sure if I had your correct addy either. I've go so many it's silly, but this one comes directly to me at home: myrwin at dccnet dot com.
All is good up here, Gerald's been home for a couple of weeks, recuperating from surgery on his arm, and won't be going back to work til Jan. 16 <g> so I have a couple more weeks of being spoiled! We don't "do" Christmas but it was a lovely, relaxing day with great weather to boot. We had a couple of days of snow (this is NOT normal) then it warmed up and yesterday I was outdoors transplanting, admiring the blooming primroses and planning my strategy for the spring.
I hope that work is going fine for you, and every other little thing in your life! Say hi to Katie for me too. All the best for a happy New Year, and I'll write soon to catch you up on all the gossip in my life.

Mom - 31 Dec 2005 13:59 GMT Hi Shawn,
Happy Holidays! I can only keep my fingers crossed and hope for 2006 to be as great as 2005. I started a job that most people only dream about and love it. Katie has been completely sober for 11/2 years, has a great job and boyfriend, My oldest son married a wonderful German girl, my middle son bought a house and met a girl who treats him like a king, my mother beat lung cancer, and my boyfriend finally realizes how wonderful I really am (about time hehe). Can it get much better than that? I don't see how. The only problem I have had in 2005 is this addiction I have developed toward buying too much new clothing. I may have to find a 12 step program for it.
Katie finally has health insurance and good health insurance to boot. She is taking care of herself and has scheduled a biopsy for Feb. 6. I am taking the day off of work to be with her. The only thing that scares me is she was diagnosed with a hemagioma sp? a couple of years ago and I know that can be dangerous during a biopsy. It is a mass of blood cells that can rupture if hit during the biopsy. She didn't even remember being told she has it so I asked her to be sure and make the doctor aware. A lot of her friends in AA are going through treatment and I think she is gearing herself up for it. It's nice that she has been able to see firsthand the effects before she goes through it and has such a great support system. I think emotionally she can finally handle it. I'll keep you posted on her progress. Say a little prayer.
I hope you and Randi all the best in 2006 along with all of my other great friends here at ash-c. I don't know what I would have done without you all.
Love, Mom
