First, let me say I'm glad that some of you are doing well on your
treatment. Secondly , I posted the wrong  results on my VL,  I started
at (746,000) not at (46,000).  Furthermore, this medication SUCKS,
SUCKS AND SUCKS.  I'm struggling with myself not to become a a.shole.
I have fought many of battles in life but this one...(the enemy  is
me) and by far the most difficult. I'm seeing this a.shole emerge
within me, and I HATE it. I hate the way it makes me f.cking feel. My
daughter who is 4yrs old has no idea that I'm ill and why daddy
sometimes has to leave the room. Nor will I let her know.  All of us
must stay  strong  and defeat this horrendous monster  that  has
invaded are life.

Good luck to all,

Hey Dell - I hear what you are saying there.  It does suck but just for 11
months and then you will enjoy your daughter and family again.  I have a 4
year old granddaughter so I know the energy and the craziness of a 4 year
old.  I decided to tell her Grandma was sick - no details just sick.  She
will come over on the weekend and visit with me and we lay in bed and look
at books and do those spongy puzzles.  She loves to go to the water machine
and get grandma a big glass of water.  She just loves to cuddle me when
grandma isnt feeling well and I love her so much that she is part of my
healing process.

Sounds like you need an anti- d and perhaps anxiety meds.  I take luvox and
xanax to help me sleep.  Keep your eye on the prize Dell!

I can relate to what you are saying Dell! I've been through it six different
times and I think it's gotten harder for me each time. One of the things
that has helped me is just to allow myself to be ME, whatever that ends up
to be. If I'm feeling especially crummy I'm probably not the friendlies
person around but that's life. If people care about you they will
understand. If they don't then they can urinate in the wind.

You are fighting a battle and running a marathon all at the same time! Give
yourself a break. You can beat this thing!

Different people have had different ways of dealing with the rage you're
talking about.  For me, tranqs like xanax didn't help much but marijuana
baked into brownies made it disappear like magic.

Be strong, you can get through this...

LOL :)   we need a FAQ for brownies that someone will post monthly for the
group!

I was going to ask someone to post a recipe again too.

are brownies 'better' than just taking a couple of hits off a joint for
controlling the sides?  what's the difference, if any?

brownies, for me, gave me an hours-long low-level buzz that treated the
sides well.  Late at night or when I felt really bad I could smoke some
but the day-to-day treatment for me was brownies.

A quarter pound of the good sh.t should do it, Mags.  Just make sure you
remove the seeds and stems before getting 'baked'.

Of course it's not too much!  Just think about all that fiber you'll be
getting in each brownie.  What are seeds and stems?  They're the things
you get down to when you're down and out.  That's where the blues came
from.  Just ask Commander Cody, he'll tell ya.

In NYC they sell really good bud by the 1/8 oz and 1/4 oz (about $60-90).

I would take a couple of buds and grind them up small in a mini-food
processor.  Set up a double boiler with a stick of butter and but the
power in.  Bring it to a boil and cover and turn off the heat and let it
sit for a couple more hours.

I just used that instead of butter or oil in the brownie mix - the 8x8in
pan size, not the "family size"

I think you should give your little one more credit.  4 year olds are SMART.
She already knows 'something' is wrong.... please don't let her think it's
HER.  Kids tend to think they did something to make us angry, or that we
don't like them any more when we start acting differently.  Be honest with
her, and let her help you.  It's ok to be weak and not be the perfect dad
while you are sick, just make sure she understands it's the sickness and not
her or what you feel for her that is making you act the way you do.

just my viewpoint of course....  but as someone who comes from a large
family, and raised 4 kids of her own, I truly believe that families have to
pull together during tough times, and fight the good fight using all their
resources.
dell - 10 Dec 2005 17:42 GMT
Hi Sara!
I appreciate your concern. I know that kids are smart and pick up on
everything, that is one of the reason why that this battle is so tough.
I do not want my little girl to worry about her daddy., and believe me
I will never let my daughter feel though she is to blame. I make up
excuses when I have to throw up or need be alone.

And thank you

Dell, please read this again (Sara's post) because it's very wise advice.

It's one thing to behave like an a.shole because your sick; it's another to
behave like an a.shole and refuse to let those close to you know that your
behaviour is *because* you are sick.

At least discuss this with your doctor. Antidepressants *will* help.

This is a battle for your health, for your life. It is worth doing, but
there's no need to make it more difficult than it has to be. Take care and
good luck,

Waterspider
