HELP! Question on ALP & Hep C "relapse". . .

Hello,
I was here back in 2000 when I was first diagnosed with Hep C -
I did the recommended full year combo treatment (Rebetron &
Interferon) and I had been in remission since the end of treatment.
Well, my GP found my alkaline phosphatase (ALP) level was very
high, so she took another blood test to make sure it wasn't a mistake,
of something.  I went back to the Dr's today because my stomach
has been KILLING me with acid reflux (I think it is acid reflux - I
have a positive diagnosis of acid reflux, but since my ALP's are
messed up, the acid could be coming from my liver.

What I am wondering if anyone else was in remission have this
same thing happen to them?  Did anyone else relapse and found
out due to this test?  What are the odds I am going to relapse?
I have to make an appointment with my liver doc and he'll get
all the info from my PC doc, but, being the good East Coaster
I am, I don't wanna wait - I wanna know NOW!
In case it matters, I am a genotype 1A -

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I seriously doubt that you've relapsed if you've been 'undetectable' for
several years.  Did you have 6 month and 2 year pcr's drawn?  Your
primary care doc could order that test for you now so that you don't
have to wait for the appt with a GI doc.

Christi, the odds of relapsing are said to be very small.  But since
it is possible you might want to get tested so you will know for sure.
The high AFP could be a sign of gallstones which are very common or
other things.
