Good day all. "Hard times will come no more"....Yeah right. Good news is
my wife won her SSDI case in court for Neurolgical Lymes disease, 2
years in the making, 450.00 bucks of cobra payments while we were both
recieving limited income. Medicare and steady, non interigation payments
will start soon. Meanwhile, she starts treatment as soon as she gets
optical base line test .Meanwhile its got so bad it makes Riba rage look
like a baby with wet diaper. Mood swings as severe as Hurricane Katrina
but they only come about 3 to 4 days a month, almost cyclical, the rest
of the time is lost in doc appointments, narcotic haze and sleep. How
she got the energy to get to the wedding was a miricle...Well paid for
since we got back. I continue to not use the Maple in front of house as
a hangin tree, I've been graced with the ability to not react, and the
hep is not screwing with me. Its sometimes very hard to find empathy as
it seems I need to close down much of the time to handle it all. Hence
the rambaling posts sometimes. Its very scary, if this medicne don't
work for her, I may have to get "In Home" care for her, and she won't
except that.
I don't know why, but I really believe we will come out of this intact.
The doc says if the meds work (14 months) she'll feel like she's 10
years younger. However the meds are gonna make her very, very sick.'

Thanks for listening Bobby

HI
Glad your wife won the SS battle. It's about time 2 years waiting ,
unreal.
The squash recipe you gave me was great and very very good, do tell her.
What kind of tx is she going to be doing? I hope its not as bad as it
seems.. Just hang on. Take care, both of you.

>Hey Juanita!!! How are you holdin up? Been thinkin about you as my wife also has some spots on her thyroid. The meds she's gonna take for the lymes are anti-biotics. Very strong ones, "Paquinal" (anti malaria drug) and another strong one called I think "Bioxin". The thing is, just like interferon, when the virus cells are killed they break down in the body, causing more severe pain than interferon, fever, possible corneal damage, seizures etc.. Its gonna be a rough ride, but we'll make it some how, I got better peoples lookin out for me and us now than when I did treatment. That ssdi thing was a bitch. In order for long term disabiltity to cover her, she had to to the doc's once a month times 3, answer the same dumb forms every month, stay insured by cobra, all the time not being able to write, remember, calculate etc. UNUM. the insurer actually sent some one to the house to observe her stating it normal procedure, not knowing that I have had them to cover 400 buck towards my ssdi since 6 years ago and all I got was one phone call from them and a form to get direct deposit. All corporate liars. I sent coded messages to the taliban to fly into their building in Conn. next time.

She hasn't been doing too much cookin, but I been watchin "Every Day I
talian" and have some great Italian recipes....make your own sauce type
deals...Fortunatly, our herbs did well this year and I have Ice Trays
full of Pesto and angel hair pasta just waitin for a couple of cloves
more of garlic and the boiling pot...I like cookin, and have been able
to lose a lot of extra weight since being the chief cook and bottle washer!
Just found out that she started the treatment last nite, so heres to the
next few months.
I have to get to the post office, will scare up a recipe for you some
time this weekend. Its out 16 anniversay, so's I gotta get out the
Vitalis, dig out the dancin shoes, and make some reservations.

Congrats on 16 years. Its a rough road the meds she is taking are surely
strong. I know your both strong people and will pray for you both to
come through this better than ever. Not to mention she is gonna be 10
years younger and feeling better. So your the cook now. I bet the food
is great, she is gonna need some good nourishment to pull this off and
get well. As for me I have been referred to a Endo, He don't think my
thyroid is off. I know better on that one and have labs to prove it. He
is checking out my Adrenals, pituitary and not dong a whole lot, he is a
grump of a dr. and bitched about how I was miss handled at Primary Care
as if it is my doing. I didn't say much on the visit as I figured to let
him make a a.s of himself and he did. I have not met a Endo i like this
is the 3rd since 01 he is not making much of a effort to find anything
so far as I see it. Just another shoulder shrugger idiot and once again
not doing the tests that really get down to problem solving. Time will
tell.
Going to a  Halloween party tonight for  stoners with lots of good food,
bud butter cookies which I cannot eat but fun watching the others
getting buzzed.
Have a nice Anniversary Bobby.
Looking foreward to the next recipe. :›)

I know of someone who had treatment for the neuro lyme disease.  His
recovery was long but he felt much better once it was done.  Three
years later he can't tell if the aches are just age creeping up on him
or related to injuries he got when his copter crashed in VN. But he did
say he felt a whole lot better then before the treatment.

That's real good news, Bobby.  Sounds almost like a round of hepc tx,
the long duration and sickness thing.  Here's to your wife feeling 10
years younger (elmo hoists his coffee mug)!  Take good care, bro.

Bobby, I wish the best for both of you. This hep sh.t makes it hard to
be empathetic with others, but we find that there are people having a
worse time of it than we are and we have what we can and just keep
going. I hope her treatment works for her and you find the strength to
help her through it. In a year and a half you will both be stronger for
it and will be able to face anything together. Keep strong and persevere.

Dwight
