Shot 4 - wow one month down

Well this has been an interesting journey.  I am trying to sort out in my
head what to expect, why things have happened and how I will get through
this.
Week one I was very ill with flu like symptoms, fever, chills and a general
disbelief about what was happening to me lol. Lost 6 pounds.
Week two I had a down day and went a little berserk over cool whip (I will
never look at that product again without those memories).  Was down for a
while and suffered fatigue and headaches.  I go to bed at 6ish and sleep
until the next morning.  Lost 6 more pounds.
Week  three, lots of brain fog and I actually think I had the flu.  Half of
the office was off with a nasty flu bug and I blamed my fevers on my tx
(makes it easy to blame tx for everything)  Food was revolting to me and I
was getting really weak and dizzy just standing up.  Lost 4 more pounds.
Shot 4 was last night and I didn't get fevered, chilled just a headache
which I am going to manage with tylenol.  I tend to not take tylenol and
suffer.  Not this week, am going to try and get relief from these symptoms.
How does interferon effect me - I believe its responsible for revving up my
body temp., diarrhea, flu like symptoms.  The aefects seem to dissipate by
Wednesday.
The Riba - I am not sure about other than the brain fog, metal taste in my
mouth (I am pleased to announce that disappeared after last week) and
heightened sensitivity to light, noise etc.
I hope my diary here is helping some of you - I always like to be prepared
for what MAY happen.

Why are you avoiding taking drugs to help the symptoms?  Personally
I took tylenol flu for nite time every friday without fail.  Maybe my
body didn't respond with chills and severe flu symptoms but then maybe
I just slept thru it.  Also, you need to manage the weight loss.  Your
body needs nourishment to help it fight...it could also be a sign of
dehydration which isn't going to help matters at all.  In fact, it is
quite possibly adding to the headache.  If you are eating but just
can't keep food down then find an over the counter med to help..or
ask your doctor.  There is nothing wrong with treating the symptoms...
it's going to help you make it through the next 44 weeks.

Good luck

Thanks AguaGirl.  I took tylenol yesterday and ate and ate and ate.  Had the
best day ever.

On behalf of those of us who are still "in the breach", your detailed
posts are very helpful.  Keep writing, and include all the sordid
details.

Hang in there.
