I was feeling nostalgic this morning and looked up some of Dez's old posts.
I think I laughed just as hard today as I did way back when I first read
them. Dez, buddy, I miss you! Read on:
Worst Side Story
I Feel Shitty (Dez, ripped from some old broadway tune)
==============
I feel shitty,
Oh, so shitty,
I feel shitty, and pissed off and ache,
And I pity
Any a.shole who gets in my way,
I feel like barfing,
Oh, really barfing--
It's alarming how barfing I feel,
And so shitty
That I hardly can believe I'm real.
See the weary hepper in that mirror there:
Who can that ugly face be?
Such a shitty face,
Such a shitty place,
Such a shitty smile,
Such a shitty me!
I feel nausea
And so dizzy--
Feel like going on a real crime spree,
For I'm on treatment
And boy is it killing me!

(ripped from Huey Lewis' "I Want A New Drug")
i want a new side
one that helps my heart
take things more in stride
and not rip others apart
i want a new side
one that helps my mind
not dwell on selfish pride
but to others be more kind
i want a new side
one that helps my soul
feel the peace inside
from knowing when to let go
i want a new side
one the dragon can't enter
in eternity will abide

OMG! What a talent! I get those earworm things from commercials, or whatever
the last jingle I hear before heading out the door to work. The rest of the
morning I have it playing over and over in my head. These will come in
handy! Thanks for sharing them. Where is Dez? I am hoping healthy, happy.

Dez was a friend and a big part of the group. He had a very hard time
with tx, but he did make it through successfully. He ended up succumbing
to cancer, it happened very quickly. I for one considered him a good
friend, even though I never met him, and miss him.

Actually, Dez had a heart condition and died on the operating table
trying to correct it.

Thanks Elmo, I'm not sure why I thought it had to do with his hip and
shoulder.

He had also been diagnosed with a form of leukemia. Maybe I've got it
wrong and his heart gave out while he was being operated on for his hip.
Shucks.....I don't know. :-)

There has never been or ever will be a better member of this group than
Dez. He was wise, caring and humorous. I miss him too, Thiipper.
Thanks for the stroll down Memory Lane.

Thanks Thip, Dez was a really one of the best. He could tell a story
and make us laugh or cry. He really did have a tough time, I miss him
too. I often wonder if anyone kept in touch with Stresla? He made us
all love her too.

Dez was a great storyteller and a friend to all. He is sorely missed here.
