Spontaneous Clearance

Does anybody know if there are any studies about this supposedly 15-20%
spontaneous clearance?

Specifically, does this tend to happen at any particular time. Right
after infection, the first few years, or perhaps at any time?

a friend of mine spontaneously cleared after over twenty years of infection.
