The tx (interferon plus riba) treatment for 24 to 48 weeks is considered as
a golden standard for treatment of HCV.
The questionis:  is that the only way of treating? Or is this not the only
affordable one.
Is there any platinum, or diamond standard?
What are wealthy people doing?
Pamela Anderson for instance is HCV infected.
Any idea what treatment she took.

Other than the milk thistle implants she's not doing anything.  She
has stage 0 liver damage and is waiting things out hoping better
things come along.

Right now I believe there is only interferon/riba for broadly approved
therapy.  Some people do clinical trials though when they are
desperate or broke.

Lest we divide ourselves into "old broad who's been around" category and
"innocent victims", I think we need to focus on a shared sense of having
a disease vs. not having it.

I have no care for how someone got it.  My only reason to be here is to
support people who have it in the same way others supported me.

Pam Anderson makes a lot of sense to me.  She's majorly time-limited in
her career.    Make a lot of money now and deal later.  I'd do the same.

I think Randy was referring to her age and the fact that Our Pammy may have
had hep C for decades.

Unless she's had it for decades (quite possible); then her decision to play
with "natural treatments" is just a dumb blonde one.
To my knowledge, she's not had a biopsy and in that regard she's playing a
dangerous game by not knowing how much liver damage she's suffered. We all
know that most people don't have symptoms until the late stages.

From July 25, 2002:

http://www.jaehakim.com/articles/tv/features/pam.htm

She said on Larry King that she'd had a biopsy.  She has said in other.
more recent, links that she's putting off treatment as long as she can.

So she had a biopsy two-three years ago? I remember reading an article where
she was quoted saying that milk thistle was curing her hep c <cringe>. It
upsets me because a lot of people do listen to her and she's become a
self-proclaimed spokesperson for hep c. We don't even want to get into her
thing of combining the cause with her work for AIDS patients. I don't
question her motives (I'm sure she's sincere) but she's doing hep C
sufferers a huge disservice by spreading misinformation and myths. IMHO.
