Hi All,

Hope everyone is well.

Tonight will be number 28.
I have had the worst headaches. My joints are hurting pretty bad and I'm
having trouble talking. It almost seems like stuttering. I saw my doc today
and told him I needed something for my joints as it makes it difficult to
ride. He promptly threatened to stop TX if I continue to ride my motorcyle.

Anyway, has anyone else here had trouble with speech?

Best,

Dan

Nice Dr. don't tell him what your doing any more since he is such a
woose and will pull you off tx for riding a motor cycle,?? Thats really
different usually people are taken off tx for other reasons of much more
serious magnitude. The only time I had slurred speech was when my
thyroid was in the hypo state on tx. Hypo also causes great beyond
belief head aches in which I was prescribed Imitrex nasal spray, It was
a miracle drug for me and kept me going. For the major aches and pains.
fever I took valium and Advill also did wonders as well.

Your doctor is just looking out for you. I rode bikes for years and know
what it is like, but also know how I felt when just driving on tx. You
weren't around when Dez was doing tx. His wife made him sell his after a
little escapade of him riding while on tx (I don't think he would have
sold it if he didn't agree with her). There will be plenty of time to
ride after finishing tx. For me, it was easy to come down with a bad
case of road rage while on tx. There were times I was to the point of
wanting to push someone off an overpass with my SUV and not seeing
anything wrong with it. Hand gestures were a common activity for me
while driving and with some of the other crazies on our roads being on a
bike wouldn't have offered much protection. My riding or driving ability
wouldn't have been a concern, my emotional stability was.

Hi Dan,

yes, I went through a period during which I noticed I had trouble
talking. I just couldn't find words to name things or to point out
ideas. It was around the time you're in, anyway, around halfway.
My mind eventually got used to that after some weeks and it seems to go
better at the moment.
In my opinion and as far as I am concerned, it seemed to have connection
with brain fog and lack of concentration.
I've always thought it was a Ribavirin inducted side effect.

Cheers,
jeeb.

Yeah, I had trubble with da speech when I was doing that stuff too.
It'll pass.  I have to go along with your doc about the bike riding.
Balance is an important function of scootering, which went 'south' on
Infergen and Pegasys for me.  Do yoursef a favor and put the bike away
til you're done.

Now you have me worried! Forget about alcohol, I do ride occasionally but
have not noticed any balance problems afetr 6 months tx and VL=0 .

I *am* conscious of losing some strength to hold the bike and park it
(when not mounted) but have no trouble riding. OTH I never was great at
holding and maneuvering the bike when standing next to it :)

Hi there Amanda,

I failed to mention that my bike is an Electra-glide classic.
It's very heavy. I really do think I will put it away for now.

Be well,

Dan

You're not taking Infergen and on top of that, I don't trust your
judgement anyway.
If you drink alcohol while you're doing tx, you're even more stupid than
Dan for riding his motorcycle.  :-)

Hi Elmo,

I had not felt well enough to ride for about the last week.
I am going to put the bike away.

11 more months, piece of cake.

Take care,

Dan

Smart man.  A lot of getting through this is accepting that there are a
lot of things that you may have to put on hold, but can enjoy when it's
all over.

Hi Booger!  I knew you had common sense. (Infergen is best!!!)  Glad
you're putting the bike away. You'll have plenty of time to ride it
later.  Maybe this is a good time to cherry it out while you're waiting.
Be well, bro!!

It'd be a shame if when they did your post-mortem after the bike
accident that your blood would be virus free.  :-)

Hi Dan,
Heck yeah, stuttering is all in the game. The simplest things seemed so
impossible. Whenever I went to the bank to do business, I had to ask for
patience, my hands would shake, and I couldn't speak clearly at all. You are
not alone, and right on track. Good luck Dan.

for the headaches, Norco 325/10mg did the trick for me, about 4 of them
sometimes just to get to the f.cking store for lucky charms and milk and
some ice-cream......

Better to reply late than never?

My experience with infergen beside the first shot which had me with a huge
headache and fever, sweats ect was that I took the daily shots very well, I
didn't even miss a day of work.  To be honest with you it wasn't much
different than Pegasus nor pergatron.

Im just telling the group this as to let those folks know that may have to
consider it that it doesn't have to be a problem, its like anything else,
some of us will tolerate it better than others.

My problem with infergen is that it worked to well, it took my blood and
made the counts drop like a rock. Here was the kicker, I had to take nepogen
and procrit both 3 times a week along with my daily infergen shots (13 pokes
a week)! Am I making you feel better????????????   buster  (46 weeks down
and 24 more to go)
