I am confused by how others get these posts, I get every post through the
above website. not via email. I haven't used allot of news groups in the
past.

You can continue using that website, but what they are doing is just
repackaging a common service and hiding that fact. A bit sleazy, if you
ask me. Google does the same, you will find this group there under
"alt.support.hepatitis-c", but Google at least mentions that it's just
providing an interface.

What you are reading here is a newsgroup in what's called "Usenet". You
can directly access this group through your ISP's news server (most have
one) and a news reader, the most common of which is Microsoft's Outlook
Express, which does most people's e-mail. It isn't e-mail, though, and
it isn't a real-time chat. The big advantage of using a news reader is
that you can create filters for threads and people you don't want to
read, and that you can follow threads more easily than through the slow
and tedious web-interface. WebTV, which "C F" uses, has its own
interface to Usenet.

Google took over DejaNews last year I think.  Deja News was actually rather
more easy to navigate than that vibrant Google, but the data base is the
same for the NNTP archives, I beleive.  (My TechnicSpeak might not be up to
spin, here)  I use a text based setting on the News program in Outlook
Express.  Depending on your ISP, you may or may not be able to subscribe
directly)  Oh ya, you are webtv, aren't you?!  hmm hmm

Thanks Tom and CJ, My ISP is MSN and they don't use Outlook or IE any more.
They have MSN mail and MSN Explorer, kind of breaking away from it's own
creations. I haven't found a news service on my home page yet, I think
it's because they keep changing things so often.

Windows comes with IE and OE. You can use MSN's news server with OE. Using
MSN Explorer is asking for nasties to inhabit your computer.
