Well my blood work came back and I am geno type 1 b.  Is this a life
sentence?  Everything I have read shows a 20% chance of beating this.  I see
the specialist tomorrow.  What should I be asking him?

Mags,
Hey sweetie the crying will stop. It may start again but you will come
to understand that this does not mean a death sentance. I approached it
by getting a liver biopsy about 2 months after diagnosis.
I've propably had this for 23 years my biopsy results were 2+ out of 4
for inflammation I believe and stage 2+ for fibrosis , no
cirrohsis.....I may have the terminology wrong, but the idea here is
that I could chill out and make a plan to get things in order for 6
months before treatment. It gave me confidence to take my time. And to
decide how much time I wanted to take before starting tx.
I can't say how your results will be, but I do know that whatever you
need for support you will find it here.
I would ask the doc what he knows about the disease and the treatment.
Ask about protocol. Ask about the "what ifs". Feel good about the doc,
or get a different one. I don't mean to be negative, but sometimes I
wish I had a different one. Ask about a liver biopsy,

Eat some chocolate. :)

Take care,
Mary Ann
