Does anyone have experience with filing for bankruptcy due to all these med
bills etc...?? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Any law schools near you that provide free legal aid? If it is a fait
accompli, there may be benefit to getting your filing in before Yet Another
Example of Sick Right-WingNut Shite(tm) becomes Law of the Land...

Yes Shawn, you get your doctor to sign you off sick, and then you walk into the
court house with your mind all befuddled because of the interferon, everybody
there falls over backwards to help you and they rush you in front of a judge
because bankruptcy takes priority over anyone else, and he takes one look at
your befuddled state and says "What happened to you?" and even then you mess up
explaining, so he declares you bankrupt, as of that time, and all your troubles
are over.
You then have to see the "Official Receiver" who also notices your confused
state, and you tell him/her you are off sick, and they try to find your assets,
but by now you doubtless have few left, and because you are signed off sick by
a doctor you cannot be expected to work, they write off your debts, and
therefore you can spend the time on sick-pay resting until you are really well
enough to start again.

Hey Shawn,
I guess that you are still on tx?
If so, there are Hep C clinics and also
ROCHE patient assistance foundation that gives free Pegasys if you qualify
according to their Pegassist pamphlet. You can call 1-877-734-2797 or
www.pegasys.com. I hope that you don't have to be on the streets to
qualify.
Alot of pharm companies are now giving cheep or free drugs to those who
qualify, it's kind of a public relations thing to clean up their greedy
images.
The USA has just passed a new law this week to make bankruptcy harder to
enter into. Pressure from the credit card companies! I am not sure of all
the details.

Shawn isn't on tx. He had a liver transplant a few years ago and has
been dealing with associated problems since then.

Drug costs aren't an issue for me Hospice picks up all that. It's just that
I like to keep a roof over my head and stay warm and fed.

May all the gods and goddesses, ever,...Bless you.
I wish I knew the answer. I thought that the bankrupcy law wouldn't go
into effect for a few months...I could be wrong. BUT if that is the
case you may want to act quickly. Funny thing is this will give
bankruptcy lawyers one last hurrah.
ugh
hmmm...I'd always thought you lived in Europe.

No, I was never one to have treatment offered to me. By the time my Hep-C
was discovered my liver was functioning at a rate of 8 to 10%. I had to
chance the transplant method instead. I had excellent insurance coverage
from my employer for the transplant (100%) It was the complications that
just kept pilling up and up and up!!! So, before Busch's save the credit
card companies plan goes into effect I wanted to see what my options were if
any!. We're down to the bottom of the barrel and have to figure something
out. So I thought someone might have some doings in this area.

Shawn,
Just ignore the bill collectors.
I didn't get your personal info from Elmo until after I had already
left and was somewhere in Montana. I should be back in a month.
Hey Shawn, f.ck 'em if they can't take a joke. Ahahahahahahahahah!!!
