I had a Dr's appt this afternoon and got some good news - still
undetectable.

I took my last Riba dose on Nov 28, last shot on Nov 26.

I had a VL test around the 16th of Dec which was also undetectable.

I sometimes hesitate to post my status here since I was recently
diagnosed with an acute infection and the chances of clearing a 1a
infection during the first six months using 6 months of combo therapy
are over 90%.  That's much better odds than 1a chronic, and I am
extremely thankful that I was able to catch it early.  I can't pretend
to know what it's like to have lower odds, or do multiple rounds of
treatment, and I am in awe of the resiliance of those who do.

I didn't have an easy time on treatment, though, so I didn't get off
completely easy.  I'm very thankful to the people here who put up with
me in my riba moods, and the support I received was invaluable.

As usual, I'd like to put out the appeal to those who think this
newsgroup is a place to work old grudges: that's a heartless and cruel
thing to do to the people who really need support.

YOUR support has been pretty invaluable too Gordo.

Hang in there Gordo.  Lucky for you to detect and start tx during the active
infection phase.  You have an excellent chance of attaining a SVR. Your next
few months will tell the tale.  Here's hoping you get your SVR.

That's great news Gordo.  If you haven't relapsed yet you will
probably be in the clear at 6 months.  Awesome.

My doctor came into the the exam room and greeted me with "Honey, you're
cured!".  That was great to hear, but I still expect to break down and
cry like a little girl when I get a six-month test that's the same.  I
can't even consider the alternative but like other people it's happened
to I guess I'd just deal and figure out the next step.

Still, it was a very good way to end the day.

Gordo
Nice to hear you are having continued good news/results

I expect it might have been at least partially due to
good Karma from being so supportive to many in this group!
(seriously thanks)

But in any cause and for whatever reason
I'm very glad to hear it.

Please keep dropping around
Keep us posted

Be Well
DB

Thanks

(not a Dr nor did I play one on TV,
but used to play DR as a kid a lot if that counts)

I was a nasty SOB when I first showed up where - a couple of weeks into
tx - so I am sort of afraid of putting too much emphasis on karma points
:)

Some people went out of their way to help me.  I know what a difference
it can make, and as I'm able I'm glad to be able to pay it back.
