Got a letter from my VA primary care with all my lab results, except the
pending pcr.  Only two tests were abnormal:
AST - 79
ALT - 157
I've got an appt with her this coming Monday to discuss the numbers.
Needless to say, I'm worried about the pcr.

Sorry to hear that Elmo. My 12 week pcr was the same way...I waited 14 days
and called to get the results and they didn't have a clue until  3 days
later.
Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving :)

Hi Elmo,
it has been quite a sad period for me too.
I think I can understand how you're feeling now.

There are people who do achieve SVR but still have elevated ALT values.

It's not over yet! sh.t this is going to be PCR week for you, me, HC and
some others... I've been a bit worried about my 6 month PCR too. I just
haven't been feeling as good as I did for a couple of months this summer
once the chemo cleared my system.

The all too familiar periods of unexplained nausea and generally just "not
feeling right" that I experienced before treatment have come back in the
last two months. Also some strange muscle cramps that I can't explain.

But not to be too negative I'll hold my breath for another week. If I was a
betting man I would pass on this bet.

All I can do is hope and pray for myself and the rest of you to make it.

Just want to add, I remember last year at this time. I was one sick f.cked
up sumbitch on this treatment. My thyroid was on full steam and man I was a
mess...

I'm thankful I don't feel like that this year I guess....

I'm going to visit my galpal who lives in Kasilof, Ak. A nice 4 hour drive
of over the rivers, around the arms, over the pass and through the mountains
of Kenai.. Stuffed Cornish game hens for us!

over til it's over'  and I hope you get yours too.

Am having Thanksgiving with some long time family friends across town.
My folks will be there too.  I'm baking one of my world famous
blackberry pies, mom is making the usual pumpkin and pecan pies.  I
bought a set of turkey tits and a snow shovel at Walmart today.  I'm
going to cook up the turkey after Thanksgiving and shovel snow tomorrow.
Winter sucks!!

It's supposed to start snowing any minute, we're only forecast for 1-3
inches.  It means I get to change from 'landscaping' mode to 'snow
removal'.  My folks live 20 minutes away, I'm their landscaper and snow
removal service.  It doesn't feel all that cold, just cold enough to
snow.  :-)

Gosh Elmo. I hope to God your PCR is OK. Are you on any meds that might
raise your LFTs?

At any rate, whatever the results, you will have more than likely regressed
your fibrosis.

Fingers crossed,

Here's hoping that's the Dragon doing it's last throws of defeat

(fade to the burning Heptopolis in Elmo's Liver
"Godzirra" braying noises are heard

A very panicked looking 'dark haired" male liver cell is saying to a
female liver cell in a girls school uniform. (she hides her face)

"Oh rook Tomiko!!  the Dragon is certainly to be dead now!!")
Tomiko claps here hands and squeals with glee

.......

(Hmm 6 days into treatment, maybe I have Riba with a little
" Godzirra brainfog" on the side <BG>)

Monday huh (what a damn long weekend this will be)
Elmo I wish you the very Best of outcomes

But man I get the feeling someone's in the pentagon is gonna want to
"weaponize" you (only kidding..... well mostly..... hmmm)

You have gone through several treatment cycles haven't you
If not please take my humor with the "appropriate grains of salt"
(coping the new guy plea)

Keep us posted

Yo Elmo!
Ya, we all deserve a break.  There's still a part of me that tries to deny
all this, after all the goofy dicked-up shite I did over the previous forty
years and I got away with most of that in a skate!  (or almost!)  I suspect
we all have that tendancy to want to wish away our fears to some degree.
And you're right about enjoying the ride the best you can as you can; it
takes strength and determination to maintain that headspace though, when
some of the campfire stories start coming out and you realize that this all
can get very scary without warning.  And so the value of having people on
board who have been down the path some times themselves eases the way for
those of new us with all our human complications, who customarily all make
new and untidy presentations into what can be a cruel and hostile world.  So
if fair is fair then we'll meet you at the fair!  You deserve a break
to-day, supersize it!

For what it's worth, I agree with you.You are correct about some of the
campfire stories. It's why I deferred TX for so,long. It is reassuring that
there some folks who have gone through all this, and more than once, and
decided to share their experiences. Thanks Elmo, and also a salute to all of
you folks out there who are struggling, some even fighting to stay
alive.Your power of example is valued and appreciated.Thank you very much.

some times themselves eases the way for those of new us with all our
human complications, who customarily all make new and untidy
presentations into what can be a cruel and hostile world. So if fair is
fair then we'll meet you at the fair! You deserve a break to-day,
supersize it!

Life isn't fair, or meant to be fair. We don't always get what we
deserve, nor do we deserve what we get. That's just the way it is. You
play your cards as best you can and try to enjoy the ride. Thanks, CJ!

You've had more than one drum roll in your life Elmo. I am not someone
who prays but I will remember you and your needs in my heart. You
deserve a break.

news:5802-41A6631E-368@storefull-3256.bay.webtv.net... Thanks, DB. It
will indeed be a long weekend. This won't be my first, and probably
won't be my last. I have to admit I'll be more disappointed if the
results are bad this time around. I've had enough of dragon fighting and
such.
