Hello,
my father has had an 11 months interferon+ribavirin treatment.
After this period PCR is 0 and has high biological values.
This seems to be strange and rare for a partial responder.
Do you have any infos about this situation and the chances to defeat HCV?

thanks
Russ - 02 Nov 2004 07:32 GMT
what do you mean "biological values"?? Liver function tests?? If those were
high perhaps your dad still has some liver damage even though the virus is
gone.

anyway welcome and great news to your dad about his SVR!

If "Hi biological values" means Reds, Whites, hemoglobin, ANC plus LFT's
within normal range, then it
Sounds to me like he's a Full Responder.  Congrats.  I wish I were in his
shoes.

If by "high biological values" you mean above normal liver function
tests (AST, ALT etc.), I would not worry that much for now. If his virus
is undetectable, he is not just a partial responder, he responded fully.
If the virus PCR is still 0 after 6 months, he has achieved SVR, which
is close to a cure. Liver function tests may be elevated during
treatment, and it may take a while for the liver function to normalize.

Your dad's doc will probably keep a close eye on those tests, and check
them every few months to see whether they go down. If they don't, and
the virus stays undetectable, there may be other processes independent
of the virus that are damaging his liver, which would have to be
investigated. But for now you should just wait and see.

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. What *We* worry about is your abysmal taste in *pretty*

Nice little party you got going on here. Is there anybody here who actually has
hep-c or is it just you *clueless wonders* who may have got a cure but
*couldn't get a life* ???

The answer is that there are a number of people here with Hep C, and
probably more than half of them are in treatment.

The experiences of feedback of people who have completed treatment has
been invaluable for me, especially when I first started.  The only time
there's an issue with the old-timers (graduates?) is when bizarre
lifeforms like you show up milking old grudges and just not making much
sense at all.

I'm fully aware of who is here and who is not, thank you very much.

I do believe I was addressing the *organ-grinder* and not his *monkey* so
please go mind your own business and I am sure you will find it better for both
of us.

Hey, you *feral cave dwellers* managed to do the right thing for once and voted
in the right guy.

Congratulations.

Then why did you post the question to a public newsgroup?

You have been nothing but a fountain of nastiness and bile in every post
I've seen from you.  What is your problem?  You're cowardly and weak, I
can tell those two things for sure.  You might try resolving your issues
in real life instead of acting like a nasty adolescent online.

And at the point that you're paying for my time, you stupid fuckwit, you
can start telling me what I can and can't do.  Until then I will comment
as it suits me.

Just wondering why a man who cleared HCV nearly three years ago hasn't got
himself a life yet, but then seeing as he resembles Tin Tin (as in Herge's
Adventures of Tin Tin) in a *pretty red shirt* I can see he probably has
trouble doing that.

I'm asking a valid question here. This is a newsgroup for the support of
hepatitis-c sufferers. Out of those posting here, I see at least a half-dozen
who *don't* have HCV, several of whom have taken it upon themselves to drive
away Hoofprints, who *does* . Now that doesn't seem right to *Moi* and as a
hepatitis sufferer I take exception to it, and have decided to resume posting
here.

Ditto. I hope you enjoy the ride. I do. The *feral cave dwellers* tend to get
frayed around the edge though.

I don't know anything of that history.  Is your intention to drive these
people away so that your friend can return?  A less punishing strategy
might be to help your friend with the setting up of killfiles.  That way
you friend doesn't have to deal with the people who you claim drove her
away, and the rest of us who have graduated Jr. High School can continue
to interact and make our own judgments about the full set of people.

Unless your silly idea is to actually drive the big meanies away as
punishment, which is unacceptable.

How often do you wear gloves, and of what style and color?

When my hands are cold, in which case I wear warm ones, and when I'm handling
dirty of corrosive substances in which case they tend to be made of some kind
of latex.

I was thinking more along the lines of formalware, but it's not that
important.

Hey Gordo,

A word to the wise.
Plonk this troll like everyone else has.
I wouldn't even see his messages if you weren't playing into his hand and
*taking the bait*.
In fact it looks like you're having a nasty argument with yourself.

"Don't feed the trolls" means don't respond to them.
They lose interest and fish in dumber waters.

LMAO. And they don't come any dumber than Paul, do they?

What goes around always comes around, and you should have left Hoofie alone.

This is good news about his PCR. Keep your fingers crossed that it stays at
0 for 6 months after treatment. Wish you both well!!
