I'm going back to work tomorrow.
I took the day off today as I had my first shot on saturday evening (6:30
pm).
Night was no fun. I had very high temperature until 3 o'clock in the
morning.
I couldn't sleep at all.
It surprised me that it came out so early.
But, on the contrary, sunday was not bad.
I've been drinking lots of water.
I still had fever, but lower. I could get up and so on... Sunday evening I
was quite all right.
This morning, Monday, I felt ok.
Now, I'd like to hear if there's anybody getting the fever so early and so
high.
If so, how do you reduce or manage this side effect.
My doc told me I can take paracetamol.
Thanks,
jeeb.

I remember fevers the first two or three shots, but if I have them now
(#18) they're low enough that I don't even notice.

I prefer ibuprofen, but I'd go by what your doctor says.
Congrats on feeling good on a monday after a shot :)

Paracetemol was the best thing I found to alleviate the sides from the
first shot. I took 2 at the same time as the shot and 2 more when the
shot kicked in (about 5 hours later). Be careful not to take too many
as they are not so liver friendly. As you do not yet know the
condition of your liver, it would be prudent to keep the paracetemol
dosage to the minimum. Also, if you take them and some other meds,
ensure that the other meds do not contain paracetemol in case you
exceed the regular dosage. I found that I only needed them around the
first shot. The second shot didn't hit me anywhere near as badly and
I didn't need any extra drugs.

For those of us not in the UK, Paracetamol is the same as acetamenophen.

I don't remember what I took with that first shot. I did have a very high
fever and was very sick. I was never that sick again. The doc. had me skip
one shot (which I wouldn't do again if I had it to do over) and the next
shot gave me a fever again, but still not as bad as that first shot. You
are most likely past the worst of it as far as fever goes.

Thanks friends,
nice to have your answers and advice.
I do hope that the next one will be *better*.
As far as fever is concerned, at least.
My doctor told me that I made a mistake taking paracetamol too late on
saturday night.
I had shot at 6:30 pm and I did take Paracetamol at 10:00, when temperature
was already up.
For those who'd like to know, she told me that it would be good if I took
Paracetamol about 4 hours before the shot and a couple of hours after.
Then it can be taken every 8 hours.
Hope this helps,
jeeb.
