Just curious, I get my 3 mo viral load check on Monday and am wondering what
to expect. I know the ideal situation would be for their to be NO detedcable
virus but what if there is just a little bit? What if there is a lot? Does
that mean I should discontinue the tx? If my vl is redoced by 99% would that
be considered a success?
What if it is only reduced by half? Has anyone gotten a 3 mo check and gone
on to clear the virus after 6 mos of the tx with genotype 2 or 3?
thnx

BC-
What you are looking for is a 2 log drop in the v/l.....that is 2 decimal
places to the left. If it started at 3,000,000 a 2 log drop would be 30,000.
My doc wanted at least a 2 log drop to continue tx.

I have geno 1a and was lucky enough to go from 9,560,000 to <5 after 12
weeks. This is good news, however, the real indicator is the v/l test @ 6
months after tx. I hope this is helpful and accurate.

Good luck
Mark
