I can't help but share this because I'm so excited.  The way I kept myself
going during treatment was thinking about taking a vacation.   I'm finally
going Tuesday.  Not where I wanted to go, but I'm going to the phillipines
for a sleep study and density bone scan because they don't have the test
here for one and the other cost 4 times as much here as in the P.I.  Figured
while I'm their, I might as well see some of the country.  So, I'll be gone
until about the 15th.  I haven't been off this rock in a year....maybe two.
Lost track.

It helped me a lot to daydream of what I would do after treatment.  At times
I thought I'd never feel good enough to ever travel again.  However, I'd
browse thru the lonely planet travel guides and dream anyway.

When I come back, my post-treatment viral load test should be back.  I'm
going to try not to think about it while gone though.  I will miss this
group though.  Honest.
Hugs,
Susie
Hope everyone is doing well.

Susie, I hope you have a great time there.Do you speak any of the languages
there, like Tagalog,Visayan or Ilicano? That can be a great help, though I
know most Filipinos speak English. It is required in schools there. Good
luck in the sleep study.I did that myself last year, yup, you guessed it.
Sleep Apnea, so now I own a machine, mask and all that. I do not use it much
though, kind of noisy, and feels weird sleeping with a mask on. I don't know
the exchange rate now, but you can be assured your dollars will go a long
way there. My ex bought a piece of property there,(with my money) for her
retirement plans. Have a wonderful time, I think you deserve it. If you find
an internet cafe there, you can always check in to say hi. TTFN.

Thanks John,
No, I don't know any of the language, but I know that a lot of them speak
English.  Didn't know it was a requirement.
I was told that in the remote areas, they don't speak English
though.....so plan to stay away from the remote areas anyway because you
have to walk to get to them and my knee doesn't let me walk very far.
I thought that after treatment, maybe my sleep problems would go away.
Hoping that it was related to the HCV.  I do seem to be sleeping a little
better, but still waking up tired, never really feel rested. Sorry that you
aren't able to use the equipment more consistently.  I'd do almost anything
for a good nights sleep.   Apparently, there is surgery they can do for this
problem too, but not always successful.
Thanks again,
Susie

You can't fool me, Susie.  You're REALLY going to one of those 'sex
resorts' in the PI.  Aint ya?!
