I haven't seen you post here yet today, I've got a feeling you've
probably been reading tho.  I'm glad you're listening.....:-).  I like
to listen too!

Reading is good for your head.  So is watching your favorite tv
shows....Stargate and all that stuff.

But if you want something that is good for your soul as well as your
head, get into music!!!!!!!!!!  It requires nothing physical or mental,
it appeals to and beckons something deep inside you.  Nothing sets you
free like music does.  I find 'the blues' are best.

I'll send you some CD's to prove my point as long as you promise to
listen to them.  Who knows, if you REALLY get into it, you might get a
geetar for Christmas.....compliments of ash-c, as long as you're a good
boy, LOL.  What a ya say, group?  Think we could rustle up a
six-stringer for John?

You know I'm here. I'm just quietly mas....er, make that  contemplating :).
I have a lot of things to think about.
As for music, Elmo,I'll be honest with you. All of my life I enjoyed
listening to and bopping to music. I loved to dance at the drop of a hat.
Alone, with the old lady, or even the kid, when she was younger.I could
shuffle and move my feet pretty well, and quickly too. I cannot do that any
more...and have not relearned or developed the same love of music
anymore. The Stones were my favorite, I saw them 3 times, actually got
sprayed with mace at one concert in Boston. Alvin Lee of Ten Years After
actually tripped over my big feet on the way to the stage in 1971 or 72 and
sneered at me. Loved his guitar. He was fast. There is a piece of
contemporary jazz called "Compared to What", by Les Mcann and Eddie Harris.
It is my absolute favorite piece of music. If you can
find it anywhere, it will rock your world. And I'm not even a jazz fan :) If
you remember a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned I caught Steve Winwood on
PBS Soundstage.That moved me. I haven't a good stereo anymore, just a CD/DVD
with the tv, and on the pc.I had a great stereo system, but I lost that,
along with a house, and everything in it.Divorced in 2002, and taken to the
cleaners, and I don't mean the Jefferson's.Thanks for the thought though.

Hi John,

I got the song "Compared to What" on the Internet.
Got the Les McCann & Eddie Harries one and a second different version.
I do agree, it's a great piece of music.
