Well, here it is Tuesday again. Time for my Interferon injection. YAY! I can
hardly wait....NOT. This time I think I'll wait until this evening instead
of the afternoon as I usually do. Good golly miss Molly. Next Tuesday I have
an appointment to have my blood drawn for the 12 week viral load check.
When they do that they have to send it to the mainland to Palo Alto for
processing. I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the results.I
hope those lab tech's are from the top of their class, and not the bottom
:-)

Good luck John.  Can't believe you're at 12 weeks already.  Time
flies when your having fun eh?   I am trying to approach shot days
differently. I don't enjoy them but each one I take is one less I have to
"look forward to" so when I look at it that way it's easier.  Doesn't
always happen but I still try.

Thanks Elmo, I needed that laugh.I hear it releases some endorphins or some
such thing. :-)
This is my 11th shot of Interferon. As most everyone knows by now, that at
12 weeks it is standard practice to determine the viral load, or the level
of virus in a ml. of blood. If there is a significant drop in viral load
after 12 weeks that is considered encouraging, and is believed that the
treatment will be effective. Apparently I have been carrying these little
buggies since 1972 or 1973. That's more that long enough. Let em get out and
walk. I think there are two things that the human eye has never seen, one is
a virus, and the other is an electron. We know from inference that they
exist, yet we've never seen them.If anyone knows different, please enlighten
me. My info may be a little out of date.

There's a photo of the hepc virus taken thru an electron microsocope
posted in Doc Elmo's Hepfile.  A link to the hepfile is at the bottom of
this post.  I believe it's on the second or third page.

So, that is why it takes so long to get my results here in Saipan!  I
thought it was being processed in Hawaii!
Good golly Miss Molly

John-
Good luck on your bloodwork. I'm going to the Dr today to get my 12 week
results. I too want the top of the class doing my labs. The anticipation can
be horrible. I try to believe that everything turns out exactly the way it's
supposed to and this helps me accept things as they come. It's not always
easy but, doable.
Take care-
Mark

Yep, good luck!!  The waiting game at this point is the hardest part.
Have a couple of brownies while you're at it.

Hoo boy, this one was a toughie. I took the shot at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and
I found myself with a kind of a speedy like buzz that kept me up until about
5:00a.m. before I was able to sleep. I was unable to get out of bed at all
Wednesday. It's hard to believe that 30 years ago I would and love that
experience. Now, it's a most unpleasant feeling. I feel as though I had been
dragged through a rathole :) I kinda wish I was a little younger and a
little stronger, cause baby I'm paying the price now.
