I want to apologize for all the whining I've been doing lately , I think it
may be all the different meds I'm on. I average only four hours of sleep per
night. Maybe that is why sometimes I feel as though I'm losing it. Just a
guess. As an example, last night I did not actually sleep until 4:00 a.m.,
then woke up at 8:00 a.m. I'm so sleepy. This cannot be healthy. When I do
try to sleep, it eludes me. This could explain it. I think.

I wake up every 2 to 2.5 hours. I KNOW the lack of sleep
contributed to my irritability. Now that I am off work I try to
take naps. I am lucky to catch 30 minutes most days but on
the days that I am a little more active I can usually sleep about
an hour. I know you can't really catch up on lost sleep but those
naps sure help me.
You need to find something to take your mind off it. Think about
something you always wanted to do ..like learn to draw, learn
a foreign language etc...and then search the net for some free
information on getting started. Search for way to make natural
paints from flowers, plants etc that are right around your home...
than take up finger painting. I have a friend that gets old magazines,
cuts them up to provide color and then does some very cool mosaics
using household glue. Only you will know what sparks your interest.
Today, maybe nothing does but think about it...you'll come up with
something.
Also, you need to talk to the docs about some sort of temporary
pain relief that will allow you to move around more. Lack of
exercise makes sleep harder. Lastly...make sure your drinking
enough water. Our bodies are mostly water so replenishing that
is a great way to ward off fatigue.
Good luck John...you'll get past this...really.

John -
No need to apologize, where else are you going to find people who
sympathise through experience?
Is there anything you can take for sleep? Ambien works well for me when
I can't sleep.

If it helps you, please keep doing it. No excuses or reasons needed.
