Interferon Retinopathy Warning

My Dr. stopped my tx two weeks ago because my viral load was not low enough
after the 12 week period.  Six weeks into tx I started to notice vision
problems (floaters, spots, dark flashes).  Being still concerned about my
vision I went to an eye Dr yesterday and got all the tests.  He knew about
how interferon can effect vision.  He diagnosed me with "interferon
retinopathy" and said I was lucky because my retinal damage was small a
would most likely repair itself within the next several weeks.  Just a
warning to others if you have vision problems on tx.  Go and get checked so
as to be more informed.

Yes, an important warning - vision problems during tx should never be
taken lightly. Make sure your treatment doc knows about them, and make
sure you see an eye doctor ASAP. It may turn out to be harmless, but you
don't want to end up cured but blind.
