shot question

Hello all,

Just did shot # 22 of 48 in my left thigh. I use the Peg-Intron Redipen so I
can't pull the syringe back to see if I have blood. It's kind of "hit and
miss" and I "missed" tonight. What happens when you hit a vein? I've got a
big bubble now at the shot location, no doubt it will turn black and blue.
Is it ok to put ice on it? Does the shot still work?

Started treatment with a VL of 400,000 and was "undetectable" after 12 weeks
which was very encouraging to say the least.

The roller coaster ride continues and lately I've been "speeding" big time,
to the point of grinding my teeth. Anyone else get the same way?

Thanks for your help

I did my Pegasys shot about 10 hours ago.  Roller coaster going full
blast.  Because for me it strongly amplifies any emotion I normally feel
it amplifies any bits of stress to the level of teeth-grinding.  I do a
lot of deep breathing, just lay there and reign it in when it gets to be
too much and I know it will pass.

If it gets too annoying, or I can't control it, Xanax helps.  I'm scared
of that stuff a little, I don't want to come out of this with a Benzo
addiction.

The first time that I saw blood when pulling the needle out I went into a
panic, called the nurse, etc, etc. Basically, I nicked a capillary and
overreacted because of my stress level. Stopped bleeding after about 30
seconds.

Don't know about the ice but I wouldn't think it would hurt. If the
interferon gets into your system, it will be effective. If you hit a vein
with the needle you'll have a lot of blood that takes a lot of pressure to
stop the bleeding.

Hey Guys,

All is well concerning "the shot". It was sore last night and I just left it
alone and it's fine. I did get a bad taste in my mouth for a while and my
body ached sooner than usual. Been having the same "day after reaction" as
usual so I guess that's good. That was the second time I cause a big blood
bubble on that same thigh.

A few weeks back, I increased my Zoloft to 100MG and I feel sooo much
better. Now my mind is going 100MPH but my body can't keep up so I make it a
point to rest even though I don't feel like it, but once I relax, I can feel
my body protest the activity. I'm not complaining because the TX is going
much better now for me. The brain fog has improved and I can actually make
decisions.

Been able to keep working but I have the luxury of making my own hours and I
have lots of paperwork that I do at home so that has been a blessing. That's
really all I've been able to do is work and deal with the TX. It's like I
have tunnel vision and everything else in my life right now is not
important. Feels like I've been in "survival mode". Now that my mind is
getting more like normal, I may be able to have more of a life during this
treatment.

I wish everyone here that's on treatment the best of luck and success in
killing the beast.

I did all mine in the belly since I always had a nice roll of fat to poke
the needle in. It's been almost three months since I ended the treatment, I
still have two little bald spots on my belly!! hahahaha....

I don't envy people with no fat to geese into!

Me too!  I knew there was a reason I didn't do those sit-ups!
