The doc looked at me and said I really looked beat up on Friday. I
can't eat, feeling worn out. I'm too tired to do much of anything.
He told me to reduce the dosage by a little bit. I was using 6 ml,
and he told me that the real dose is supposed to be 5 ml. He said I
could reduce the infergen to 4 l/2 ml. He didn't know that the
infergen vial had 6 ml. I thought that it was supposed to be 6 ml.
He gave me a prescription for zofran for antinausea, plus procrit.
With pegasys I didn't feel so sick. He said if I was too tired, I
didn't have to come in to see him. I can call him up and he will
discuss my blood work in three weeks over the phone. He doesn't think
the procrit will do much for me, as I was refracory last time. It
sometimes happens. I am considering trying to use a paratransit
service to get me to the BCLD. I have lost about 8 lbs.
I have completed four weeks.
Does anyone know how to make myself eat? I have no appetite at all.
I'm feeling weaker everyday.

Hey Lisa,
I force myself to eat much of the time. My diet is horrible compared to
what I ate before TX, but all that really matters right now is that I pump
some kind of energy into my body.
You can get through this.

Songbird,
I've lost 15 pounds in a little over 8 weeks. It's damn hard to eat.
Let's analyze this a bit. Lately I've been thinking that the problem
isn't so much eating the food. When it's in front of me, it's not
appealing but basically I can eat it. No, the problem is when I know
I should eat, and yet as I consider the things I could fix for myself,
they all sound so dreadful that I just sit there and drink water.
When family members or friends bring me food, however, I can eat it
and sometimes I actually enjoy it.
Do you find this is true for you too? I know it must mean something,
like that I should ask my friends to help out and bring me food now
and then. Surprise food is easier to eat than planned food right now.
Is this all gibberish? Hope you get some relief soon, Sb.

I try to have reasonably healthy (or not too unhealthy) food that I can
heat in the microwave for the times that even that seems onerous.
Otherwise, I'll just eat ice cream because that only has to have the top
of the container taken off.

Captain Crunch and if I need to feel healthy, Multi-Bran Chex.
I also keep tortillas and cheese in the house, with a small amount of
effort I can make a quesadilla in the micro. If there's anything
leftover that would go with melted cheese I can add that to the middle
as well.
Very easy, very fast, full of calories.

Not gibberish at all..in fact it's pretty much right on. One thing
I have found to help is preparing cold dishes ahead of time.
When I am cutting up some veggies or making a pasta salad I
am not thinking about eating it because it's not for now. It's just
an activity. Later, when I know I have to eat, cold food almost
always sounds better and it is right there in the fridge next to the
water..already in a single portion container so easy to pick up.
Yeah, I still find myself getting weak and realizing I haven't
eaten but it's easier to eat when I know it's time.
