Waterspider,
I remember you saying that you had fibromyalgia before starting treatment.
As you know, I have fibro. too.  The sleep problem hasn't improved any thru
treatment.  The pain is somewhat better, but I still can't get a deep
night's sleep.  How long did it take you after stopping treatment, to start
getting a good nights sleep.  I haven't woken up feeling rested in ten years
now I don't think.

Hi Susie,

I took sleeping pills the last couple of months of tx, and was probably
sleeping normally (without pills) a month or so after tx. Sleep was a real
problem throughout tx, though; in the first months I took Gravol (an
antihistimine recommended for motion sickness) to get to sleep. Now, one
year+ after completing tx, I sleep really well (other than for the
occasional hot flash <g>) and I'm not taking any medication other than the
occasional toke for recreational purposes only. Oh yeah, and I bought two
new pillows. About the fibro, it still bothers me but not nearly as bad as
before I started tx. However, I seem to have developed arthritis (sore
joints in my hands and knees) but, at 50, I suppose it's not unusual. It's
more of an annoyance than a concern though, and I've not yet bothered to
consult a doctor about it, nor have I stopped weeding my garden, which makes
it worse.

All the best,

Waterspider

Waterspider,
Don't fool around with arthritis that may be progressing in your body.
Glucosamine and Chrondroitin can help to replace the tissue that is worn
away with arthritis causing the joints to rub together and cause pain.  It
takes time to rebuild that tissue too.  Why don't you give it a six month
try or so.  The problem may not be a big irritation now....but over time it
could be if you don't do something about it.

Did you have trouble with trying to get deep sleep before starting
treatment, or just after you started treatment?  I've had this sleep problem
since developing the  fibromyalgia
which began after I contracted HCV....I think.
As soon as I'm thru with treatment, or shortly after, I think I'm going to
zip over to the Phillippines for a sleep study.
Including air plane flight, it will cost half there as what it woulc cost me
here.....and it is an excuse to travel.
