Morning. After subscribing to this site for a few days I can see that it's
mainly for those folk involved with treatment...the starting, maintaining,
the finishing there-of.

Thats great!!

But is there a newsgroup that you folk know of for people who don't have
treatment in their plans but are symptomatic with their Hep-C?

I really want to dive in and contribute but as I said, its mainly about
treatment that this group subscribe to.

Have a great day.

You couldn't be more wrong about this group, Paul2.  Yes, many of us are
'treatment focused', some of us are not.  You're welcome to stick
around.

I appreciate your response, but please look at all the topics. It is about
treatment and the copying there-of.

And again, thats fine.

That's because the people not doing treatment generally don't post much
about not doing tx.  Here's a couple of names of folk in this group not
doing tx:  Kim, Hoof, Cody, Thipper, hc, Waterspider, Mom, Elmo, Shawn,
Thomas and Fonzz, just to name a few.  Many threads apply to ordinary
heppers and former heppers, not just those taking the poison at this
current time.
It's your choice, but I'm willing to bet you could get whatever info and
support you need here.  Maybe you could start your own support group for
people who don't want, need, or whatever.

Hi Paul,

Elmo is right. You can discuss your symptoms here, and some people
have some knowledge or experience on how you might alleviate those
things. You seem to be having a real problem with fatigue. Ask people
about how they handle thiers. I just sleep!

Take Care,

Kim

Paul2.
A lot of people on here are doing tx (self included) but I got
magnificent support from the time shortly after being diagnosed.  I
wasa diagnosed July 3 2003 and never started tx till March this year.
Even after I clear the virus I intend to read and post here.

Another place that you may find helpful is the Delphi Forums (you need
to register but it can be free if you have a basic account).
I normally enter delphi by going to www.hephive.org.uk  (I live in the
UK) .  If you want non-UK chat, messages etc, just look down the left
hand panel once you enter the site to see linked message boards, chat
etc.  It's a different animal from usenet and the boards are
moderated.
Many are on tx there too.  You will probably find thatt most people
anywhere who know they have hep-c are doing tx, contemplating doing tx
or have done tx.

The topics are really open in this newsgroup.  There's quite a bit of
people undergoing treatment so it shouldn't be surprising there are
many posts regarding that.  I don't recall anybody being told to shut
up about non-tx stuff.  Though I can understand that some people not
undergoing or who have not undergone tx may feel left out.  The
reality is tx isn't going to be successful for everybody and that's
just part of the whole hepatitis c experience.  HCV can seem pretty
mild sometimes, at least for a while, but it can also be devastating.
Undergoing tx is one way people with HCV try to protect their health
but it's not an option for everybody.  I think we all hope for
something better to come along.  I've come across other HCV support
web sites and mailing lists searching with google and I've been
meaning to check out a local support group here in Chicago myself.

There is another newsgroup

sci.med.diseases.hepatitis

I don't know if it is what you want.  Probably not, but you could check it
out.  Last time I went to it, seemed like they had a lot of flaming, but it
has been a while, so I'm not sure.

O.K.  I take it that was a little hint that the group isn't worth visiting
at all.  I won't mention it again.  :  )
