The only VL check I've had Susie was before tx started. I could have
got an extra one done privately at about $300 US but there seemed
little point. I know I went private for the additional genotyping
test but there was a very good reason for that as there was a risk
that I could be under-treated.
Anyway, <913 is the magic number I will be after.
I'm not sure that 12 weeks tx is quite a feat really Susie. After
all, I was short on choices. The mental strain of living with hep-c
for years to come seemed infinitely worse than possibly 24 weeks of
feeling crap. I know some people live with this disease without too
much trouble but my emotional make-up isn't like that.

That sounds great. Early clearance is a very good sign though not a
guarantee.

It isn't a 1. My only slight concern is that, although they have
eliminated the 48 week genotypes from the main six in my test, there
are, apparently, some rarer ones (7-11) that are around Vietnam and
Malaysia. I don't know how they are treated regarding tx. I'm just
hoping that I haven't somehow got one of these (especially if they are
48 week tx periods). I've only ever seen genotypes 7 - 11 mentioned on
one website so I do wonder if the info is reliable.

Susie. I reckon we've both got a great chance of sorting this first
time around. I've been on full dosage all the way (so far) and my
bloodwork, although it has dropped somewhat, is holding it's own. My
main difficulties have been fatigue and a degree of mental/emotional
disturbance. Even these have been easier than I expected. If I
didn't need to do some work, tx would be relatively easy for me (so
far). I just hope that it's not easy on the virus.
The attitude I adopted before tx was that, if it gave my liver a break
for a while and didn't kill me or give me a permanent illness, then tx
would be worth doing.
