Looks like I'm going on half dosage of Pegasys for the long term. I'm
officially off the Copegus now. So hopefully start feeling better and
this damned rash goes away. The doctor didn't know of any new trials
that were accepting anyone right now, but did mention one that is
looking at maintenance dosages on non-responders for long term (2
years). I believe it was called EPIC or something like that. Is this the
one that you are going to do Thip? If nothing else, the maintenance
dosage should keep me stable until something else comes around. My
viral load went from 29,000 at 12 weeks to 33,000 at 24 weeks, so it is
still relatively low. I was also told there may be help with the
reversal of cirrhosis coming.
This may be a major set back in this battle, but it is definitely not
the end of the war. I will have the head of that dragon on the head of
my lance.

No, if I get in I'll be doing Zadaxin. This is some good info someone
passed on to me recently:

If things don't work out, my doctor's going to put m on a maintenance dose.
Hope it works for you! My VL is fairly low but everything else is off the
charts and my liver's a wreck. If nothing else, hopefully the maintenance
will keep me going for the duration (assuming I'm not accepted into the
trial, I mean).

Dwight,
I have no idea if they are accepting anyone, but here's the info for HALT-C.

When my previous gastro didn't know of any active clinical trials, I
figured out which drugs I was interested in being in trials for, then
called the manufacturer of the drugs and asked them if, and who was
currently participationg in trials. That's how I found my new doc.

Good luck Dwight! Your viral counts are low ... so the maintenance shots of
interferon will keep the dragon at bay until its time to slay him. I look
forward to your insight and advice as I and others make this journey.

Thanks everyone. I think right now I'm going to stick with the
matenance dosage until I get some of my strength back. I'm tired of
feeling sick so I think I will take a break for a little while.
